Hi Brian, Seems you have a problem with the exhaust gas and the transmission. Check out the speed sensors on each wheel and have a Manufacturer diagnostic scan carried out to pin point the problems. Regards John

P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Article by Dale Toalston ASE Certified Technician Transmission Control System TCS Malfunction What does that mean? Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory. This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module. Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include: Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc. Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely). Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission. If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself. 700 is generic( a code that comes up from any transmission malfunction), 732 is 2nd gear ratio. This could be from dirty fluid up to internal problems (bad clutches) It has to be on a scanner to figure out what the problem is. Could be fluid change, bad solenoid, or a transmission rebuild.
this a pressure fault with the low/reverse circuit and the over drive circuit. Check wires to the transmission they may be pinch and touching each other or grounded to the body or vehicle power. with a scan tool reading transmission pids and a external pressure gauge can confirm what is wrong. Of course we checked the transmission fluid it is full hot idling in neutral.
Code 700 means you have a problem with the transmission or the control module. Code 340 is for the cam sensor for bank one. Code 841 is for a problem with the low reverse pressure switch and that probably also set the 700 code. Code 1776 is brand and sometimes model specific, generally speaking it is for a timing or ignition issue which could be connected with the 340 code. I would clear the codes, drive the car, and see how many codes are reset again. Then go from there.
Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
The purpose of the automatic transmission is to match the engine's optimum power and torque characteristics to the driver's desired rate of acceleration and speed by auto-selecting different gear ratios or 'speeds' to power the wheels. The Transmission Range Sensor (also referred to as the PRNDL input and/or neutral safety switch) tells the transmission control module (TCM) and the powertrain control module (PCM) that the transmission is in park, reverse, neutral, drive, low, 2nd, 3rd etc. It is attached directly to the manual valve of transmission, so when the shift lever is moved say from park to drive, the Transmission Range Sensor communicates this critical information to the above mentioned vehicle computer systems.
P0700
Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory.
Well looks like I have answered this question before for someone else. Code 700 is for a problem with the transmission control module, 731 is incorrect first gear ratio, 841 is a problem with the low-reverse pressure switch, and 1776 is a problem with the low-reverse solenoid. These components would need to be tested by a transmission shop.
You need to have the transmission control module scanned for codes. PO700 is just a code in the ecm to tell you that there are codes stored in the TCM.
Thank you
