Usually a bad crank sensor or a bad ecu computer.

SOURCE: 95 Jeep Cherokee 0 compression in #2 cylinder.

If you have a 0 reading from cylinder 2 that means there is no compression from it and you need an enfine rebuild. It seems that there had been damage to the engine.Have it hooked up to a computer and check diagnostic code.Overheating of an engine can be very costly and damaging, rememeber that always.

SOURCE: Very rough idle on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition V8

If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.

No sir they will not interchange. i worked at a transmission shop for 7 years. the inline 6 has a 500 trans in it and the v8 has a 518 trans in it. the bellhousings are different.

Do compression test first. Have you got a blocked air intake? Sometimes people put a rag over the intake tube inlet when blowing outthe air box & forget it & it gets sucked in & blocks airflow. The things I think of are straight away are Spark, Fuel, Fuel pressure, Air, Timeing, Compression

93 grand cherokee straight 6 has no spark won't start what piece am I looking for?

no spark..well you might wanna start with spark plugs & coil.If not than check the control module if it working and it giving a signal..you can check it by cranking the car n watch the RPM if it moving while starting..if not moving than you might have a bad module or a bad crank sensor...those are a piece you looking...don't worry about the cam sensor....it had nothing to do with starting...good luck

1993 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO IM TOTALLY BAFFLED

Back up a minute...Do you have spark from the coil wire? (juice from coil) If so, change or check rotor and cap (wires do not all go bad at same time so unless they are wet, likely at least good enough to start engine)
