I have a Nissan Altima 2003 automated car. It has below 90K millage. When I constantly press break in a stop light, the gear box makes sound. Without changing gear i hear clicking sound coming from the gear box. Does anyone know the cause of this clicking sound??
Thanks,
Aftab

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.
SOURCE: GEAR STUCK ON PARK AND WON'T MOVE
I think your brake shift interlock solenoid is not releasing the Park position when you apply the brake.
Check for a blown fuse first. see owner manual for location of fuse.
Also, check owner manual for how to manually bypass the interlock.
When you step on the brake pedal, it activates a solenoid that unlocks the shift linkage cable so it will move. It is a safety feature to ensure you have you foot on the brake and not the gas, as you shift out of park.
please rate highly if this helps.

1st check the the oil level and the vehicle's oil type.(owners manuel) 5w30-10w30
10w 30 is a thicker oil and could possibly be causing this.(Moves more freely through the engine heats the oil)
