Hello all. i have a prob with my 1991 vw corrado g60.
what happened is the car ran out of fuel, so i had to walk to a petrol station & buy a petrol can & fill up, then get back to my g60, fill her up, turn the key but no joy! tried a jump start (battery whent flat from turning)
still no go! tried push start, nothing!
so had the plugs taken out & the plugs where wet with fuel! (even if you look down to where the plugs sit in, you could see the fuel! was really flooded!)
had the plugs clean & dried, & still wont start!
what to do? was told it could be a fuel cut off switch
also checked the fuses & all are fine.
my mechenic at a garage where he works & where my car is now, seems a bit baffled!
any help any one.
ps once i get it started im selling it as i dont like the corrado any more too much probs!
thnx.
I used to have a golf g60 and had a similar problem, with mine it was the coil lead.
but it could be a number of things? i sold mine due to the amount of problems i had with it aswell !
if the fuel is still in the cylinder then it has to be an electrical problem as its not igniting. are you getting a spark from the plugs? leave one out and get some one to turn the engine and see if the plug is sparking. if its not then its either the coil, rotor arm, dizzy cap or leads.
