I have a 2006 Ford Taurus. If I sit too long, whether in Park or even in Drive at a light....when I start to drive again, my car turns off, but starts right up. Could this be because my oil change is

This has happened twice in the last two weeks. The first time I pulled over to look at a map on my phone. I was parked with the car on for about 5 min. When I put it in Drive, it wasn't until I pressed on the gas that my car turned off, but started right up again. The second time I was at a light and in Drive. The light was a few min. longer than most lights. Once I started to drive, I made about 50 yards before my car tuned off. Again it started right up. I am overdue for an oil change. Should have had one months ago. Just noticed that.

SOURCE: My 2002 ford taurus won't start unless i turn key 4 to 7 times

there is also a device called a transponder, it is AROUND the ignition switch and this is the part that reads your key code. thim might be your problem, hope this helps and good luck- P.S. i hope you didn't end up paying for the "repairs" that the mechanics made as they oviously havn't fixed the problem and probably were not correctly diagnosed.

SOURCE: 1997 ford taurus have to give it gas to start it

From your description of the problem The first thing that comes to light is the idle air control valve.
This devise is mounted near the throttle body and controls the airflow past the throttle plate when the throttle is closed.
There isn't a position sensor on itso if it becomes sticky it won't turn on your check engine light.
It's a fairly common problem. I have tried in the past to free them up but it never seems to work out well.
Hope this helps you along to a repair.

This is one of them faults thats very difficult to diagnose but if what you say is right then i would change the drivers door lock ,they are repairable as they are a sealed unit on these cars, but i did have a similar problem with a petrol version on one of the first models of these cars about a 99 or 2000 as i remember and it would play up just like this ,open and close the door lock with key three times and it started.then be ok for a week then not start again so i had the key man down with his programmer and he checked it out for the key remote and found nothing wrong with either the master or the spare key and he said try changing the door lock because he had this problem before with other ford focus models and mondeos .Change the lock and it was ok for a week but the owner sold the car for a new car on the scrappage scheme so i never did find out it was ok after that

I was driving my 2000 ford taurus when I came to a complete stop but when I went hit the accelerator the gas would not go.So I turn the car off and it would not start in park but it did start in neutral....

This Sounds Like The Linkage On The Gear Box Has Changed ,The Lever Is Not Reaching The Correct Position When it Is moved to park ,Drive, Etc.
Check The Cable ,Linkages From The Change Lever To The Gear Box

2000 taurus wont go into drive unless i shut it off then turn it on.

Have the code remove to see why the transmission light is flashing. This might give you some info on what the repair needs to be. Good Luck

Cant switch my gear from park to drive even i step on the brakes on my 2001 ford taurus, already replace no.32 relay but still not working and next thing happen is my open door signal turns on...im...

Turn the key to the unlock position before the lights on the dash come on and try to shift the vehicle into neutral and start it. If that works you have a bad or loose brake light switch located on the bar your pedal is on .. up under the dash. New switch should be about $10

2002 ford Taurus power streeing

You shouldn't need to replace 2 pumps,or even one. It shouldn't whine, where you hear it, driving.
I would change the steering rack, flush the cooler and pump. Still got a whine ,your getting bad rebuilt pumps
