Please help! the other day i went to start my car and it wouldnt trun over. after having it towed to my mechanic all signes pointed to the crank and cam shaft. so they were replaced. car still didnt start. when he unpluged the cam shaft and tried again my car started. it doesnt sound good, its like a long cough, you have to hold the key for probably 20 seconds for it to turn over. and now it runs with the cam shaft un attached! my car is running but not fixed. its unsafe and unreliable when it will quit again! please help!!! everytime he plugs the cam shaft back in it wont start.
You replaced cam? or cam shaft sensor? if u just replaced camshaft sensor. its probly the timing chain. it slipped and now u need to retime the engine after u install new timing set
both! the car is like possessed or something.l u plug cam shaft in it wont turn over unplug it and it turns over
u replaced sensors? or the camshaft? if you replaced camshaft then the guy that timed the engine timed it wrong.
idk he told me that both sensors were changed. and when u disconnect the cam one it will start but as soon as u plug it back in and wont. im $400 deep already for his time and 2 sensors and idk what to do next
thats it? that hasnt even been done yet and ive spent $400!!!!!!!!!!!

theres a reflash program that needs to be done on these cars, because of extended crank time and cam / crank syhcronizing out, start there,also i had one with same code and found that aftermarket cam sensors dont work, installed dealer part and had the updated reflashing done and solved the problem.

first thing you got to do is determen weather its electrical or fuel problem, you can take a test light and hook to a ground and the light end to a spark plug and see if it lights while someone turns over engine, if it lights you got spark. if its got spark, on to fuel, take fuel pressure test, don't think because you can hear pump working does not mean it is, it can sound like it is but its not, at least putting out enought pressure, not the correct amount it will not run. pumps will go out just that way with no warning at all.

Sounds like a short maybe. maybe the wire completely broke? if you know a technician, see if the fuel pump is even getting power when key is on

HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE AND THE STARTER HAS BEEN THE CULPRIT..HAVE NEVER REPLACED A FUEL PUMP ON ONE OF THESE VEHICLES AT ALL

there is fuel bc some test was done he removed a coil and gas squirted out of engine. the car has had electrial issues 1 year ago and the wiring harness was soddered baack together. my car is running, not great but running now without the cam shaft attaced i just dont trust it and my mechanic is ready to give up.
you need to buy timing set and retime it. its out of time
