You would have checked the charging system before replacing the alternator, so I will assume the charging system is good.
If the battery is being discharged overnight or over a few days, you would need to disconnect it and check every circuit on the truck to find the drain.

SOURCE: replacing alternator in 2004 escape

Check your battery connections for clean, tight connections and no deposits between the battery terminals and the connectors. Check the main charging wire from the alternator to the power distribution terminal. Also, have the battery properly load tested and checked for sulfation damaged cells. It sounds like your alternator is overworking itself. The normal charging voltage is 13.8-14.2VDC at idle. If it is high, I'd check the above items listed before buying another alternator.

SOURCE: 87 f250 drained brand new battery

I would first have the alternator checked by an auto electrician to ensure it is working correctly and is providing the correct volume of current. It may be faulty and when driving you will be drawing battery power instead of power from the alternator to run the electrics. This will drain the battery.

Alternators do not last forever and if you are still running the original unit it is likely to be on it's last legs and you will need a replacement unit.

SOURCE: 2003 ford f250 battery keeps draining down already

There is a set of Diodes in the Alternator, when these are shot, the battery will drain even though the key is turned off. I went to the auto wreckers and took 4 sets off of other alternators and swap them out when this happens. (about every 5 months) Look for a small plastic cap on your alt. and remove it and the diode set underneath the cap and replace. easy peasy. Good luck.

2003 Ford Windstar won't start

Either your battery has failed or the alternator/ regulator/rectifier has. With the engine running, check the DC voltage at the battery terminals it should be above 13 volts but below 15. If it is outside this range then your alternator or regulator has failed. This is the most likely. If it is in this range then you need a new battery. As you have changed the battery it may need changing again if the rectifier has failed. but hope it is the alternator giving no output.

1994 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner - won't start with new battery, lights won't come on

Check your battery connections on the battery and the other ends where they go the ground will go to the engine block and the positive to a solenoid make sure all of this is tight and has no corrosion. This is just a loose wiring problem

My 03 chevy monte carlo has a po102 code and I know the mass flow sensor connector is bad but will this cause the battery to drain for no reason? I hear a clicking noise coming from the gove compartment...

If you have a light in the glove compartment that might be staying on. I would start pulling fuses one at a time until the clicking stops. Pull a fuse, still clicking, put it back and pull another. Repeat until you find the circuit causing the problem. That will narrow down where you need to look.

I put a new battery in my hyundai sonata and now the lights inside the car wont even come on. it won't do anything. If you jump it it will start but thats it it won't start back up after you turn...

Did this occur straight after changing out the battery, or after sitting with the new battery installed?

Have you checked the new batteries voltage and voltage under load, eg. (Voltage when headlights are on) could be a flat new battery.

Or could be load on the battery after key is turned off, something draining the battery overnight like a boot or interior light, radio left on ect.

Unlikely a short, or you would be in a world of burnt wires from the battery cables.

My 2001 Chevy Suburban won't start at times. I remove the cables from the battery and put them back on at it will start sometimes. Other times it requires a jump. It's random. I also noticed...

your battery is being drained ,, check the plug in for the towing light hook up , something is shorted across ,, clean and tighten all connections to the battery ,, once the vehicle is running,, check the posts with a meter, you should get a reading of 13.5-14.5 volts, if not your alternator isn't doing its job
