SOURCE: nissa pickup wont idle at all

Here are the most common causes of surges, stalls at stops, low erratic idle speed and stall, rough idle and engine hesitation, it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

We are having the same problem. We are right now changing the crankshaft position sensor along with the intake and manifold gaskets.

SOURCE: 87 nissan starts then stalls

jdmbaker: There are a few areas I would suggest looking in.
First, I would be looking for a false air problem. This is a condition where you have un-metered air getting into the engine. A torn airflow meter boot, or large vacuum leak such as a split pcv hose.
Second, your injector pulse width is primarily dependent on the coolant temperature sensor. This component is located at the front of the motor just below the thermostat housing. The sensor gives the ECM resistance values based on the temperature of the coolant. If the sensor fails, usually, they have a tendency to create a lean condition. This shortens the pulse width of the injectors which essentially starves the engine for fuel. One way you can perform a quick test for a lean condition, is to pinch off the return hose for the fuel going to the tank. If you look at the fuel hoses, they run right next to each other. You have one which comes from the fuel filter. That is the feed line. Pinch the other hose. This will boost the fuel pressure causing more fuel to be sprayed out of the injectors. With the hose pinched, hit the throttle, if the engine will rev up, you persue the lean condition theory.
Third. Check for a weak spark. A severely worn cap and rotor or bad plug wires can cause a hesitation and stalling problem if they are bad enough.
Fourth. The air flow meter could be faulty. This is a very common symptom matching you description.
Odds are that one of these are the solution. Good luck and let me know how you do.

SOURCE: My 1986 Nissan 300zx non-turbo was running fine,

It sounds like the number 2 injector is hung open.

It will dump fuel and cause all sorts off issues with the ECU.

You should ohm that injector and compare it with the others to see if it is wildly different. If so, change it out and retest.

How do you replace a Nissan 350Z knock sensor?

Hello
The knock sensors (one for each cylinder head on the V6) are located on the inside of the cylinder heads, in order to replace them the upper intake manifold must be removed. It is always recommended on this engine family that not only replace the 2 knock sensors but that you also replace the short sub wiring harness to the knock sensors from the main engine harness as it is many times the a common cause of the knock sensor code(s) in the 1st place.

Replaced the MAF sensor - nothing. Took it to a authorized toyota shop & checked compression which check out good and put the computer on. Computer read mis-fire on cylinder 1, and then multiple misfire (like it would jump around). We went ahead and replaced the fuel injector on cylnder 1 - did not solve problem as when we hook the computer up, misfire seemed tp stay at idle and seem better when running high RMP, but check engine light is on as it never went away. Went ahead and replaced the coil pack to cylinder 1 - nothing. what am i missing?

Car stalls when ever you come to a stop or slow down a diagnostic revealed several possible causes 1. knock sensor 2. 02sensor and 3. idle control

Knock Sensor - is not an issue
O2 Sensor-just sees the condition of exhaust, during the stall & sets a code

I would look at the Idle Speed Motor, TPS Sensor, even vacuum leaks,Egr Valve.
Don't know your veh systems, Hope that helps some.

My nissan 350z sometimes stalls after starting

after i replaced the battery in my 2003 350z, it would stall immediatly after i cranked it on unless i gave it a little gas. I fixed this by cleaning the MAF and throtle body valve. Total supply costs were $15 and took about 20 minutes. My Z is not only fixed but runs smoother and cleaner.

Help with bulb wattage 2004 nissan 350z

The current draw is going to almost double, from 4.5 amps to 8.3,I wouldn't be so worried of the wiring ,it will handle the increase as I would of the your relays as this is where the increased draw is going to have the most affect.Generally all electrical componenets are designed to handle 33% over what they are rated at,they will work but this will shorten the lifespan of your relays by as much as 50%.
