Remote keyless entry doesn't work

Tried replacing the batteries in the remotes but still not working. Auto locks work fine on the inside of car, just not the keyless entry.

SOURCE: SECURITY SET AND LOST KEYLESS REMOTE CAR WILL NOT START

turn the ignition to the on position(don't start) the security light should be flashing. In 10 min the light should be solid, if so the car will now start. If not you will need the tech 2 scanner to clear the security faults

SOURCE: my keyless entry remote stopped working so i had

yes the remotes do have batteries. how ever that might be your problem or the remotes lost its code for programing. step when turning alarm off---- if its a factory alarm put the key in the drivers door when the door is closed and lock then unlock it thats the manuel shut down for factory. step 2------- aftermarket alarm. look for a valet switch most likely it would be installed by the driver kick panel or by the under dash fuse box. when u find it put the key into the ignition. turn it to the run position. within 3 seconds press and hold the valet switch for 3 to 5 seconds you should here a confirmation chirp and the led light will stay on solid and wont blink give it a world let me know what happens

SOURCE: KEYLESS ENTRY 1990/91 SUPREME SL

most receivers are located underdash on drivers side which you may have to take vehicle to an alarm shop for diagnosting. Or you may have a weak battery in the remote.

SOURCE: keyless entry/alarm remote will not

A common issues with these key fabs is the solder breaking right where the battery goes in at one of the connections that hold the battery. Do any of the functions work?

Did you program the new key fob ?

Remote Transmitter Programming NOTE: All remote transmitters are programmable and must be set at the same time.
  1. Turn the key from OFF to RUN four times within three seconds, ending in RUN. The locks will then lock and unlock, confirming program mode has been entered.
  1. Press any button on each remote transmitter to be programmed. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm that each remote transmitter has been programmed.
  1. If additonal remote transmitters are to be programmed, repeat Step 3 within 7.5 seconds or steps 2 and 3 if more than 7.5 seconds have elapsed.
  1. To exit program mode, turn the ignition to START or wait 7.5 seconds.
  1. NOTE: Failure to wait at least 20 seconds will cause programming failures. Wait at least 20 seconds after turning the key to OFF or after the last remote transmitter has been programmed to activate a remote transmitter for testing or verification

2008 HHR Remote Starter not working

Is this an issue with all 2008 HHR remotes??? Highly doubtful , probably the vehicles keyless entry system . Taking the vehicle to a qualified repair shop an having the keyless entry system checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Do you know what a DTC is ?
The keyless entry system is a vehicle entry device. The keyless entry system is used in conjunction with the body control module (BCM) to remotely activate certain vehicle features. Keyless entry will lock/unlock the doors, or release the rear compartment lid when a corresponding button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed. This is accomplished by the transmitter sending a radio frequency to the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR). The RCDLR interprets the signal and activates the requested function via a serial data message to the BCM. A low transmitter or vehicle battery or radio frequency (RF) interference from aftermarket devices, such as 2-way radios, power inverters, computers, etc., may cause a system malfunction. High RF traffic areas may also cause interference that could lead to a malfunction. Keyless entry allows you to operate the following components:
• Door locks
• Liftgate lock
• Remote rear doors (Panel only)
• Vehicle locator/panic alarm
• Illuminated entry lamps
• Remote vehicle start
The keyless entry system has the following components:
• Keyless entry transmitters
• Keyless entry antenna
• 2 Way Advanced Remote Start RCDLR
• BCM

Guessing will not fix this .

I replaced batteries in keyless remotes for 2002 chevrolet monte carlo ss. how do I resynchronize the keyless remotes?

Hello: To resynchronize the keyless entry close all doors, key out of ignition. Hold lock and unlock buttons till the doors (all) lock then unlock. If the transmitter still doesn't work you have other problems. Go to auto zone they can check your transmitter to see if it is working.

2001 Chevy cavalier Z24 keyless entry not working.

You should have it scaned to see if you have any codes. It has a RCDLR (remote control door lock reciever) this is the module that recieves the signal from the fobs. If it has a problem then the system will not work. If it has to be replaced then a dealer will have to program it for you. Good Luck
