My girlfriend had the same problem, had her battery replaced, and came to find she actually needed a new alternator. Always have your alternator checked before replacing a battery.
I have had flickering dash lights and most of the time the whole car shuts down, we coast, and then it restarts itself!
I just traced wiring and found the main power cable from the battery
almost burned through where it goes past a heat shielded tube on the
engine. The braided fabric heat shield is burned through and the tube
has bits of copper wire welded to it. I just taped it up and will test
drive later. Check the main power wire where it leaves the battery and
heads back past the engine.

My Ford Focus has no power at all. We have recharged the battery and everything and we get absolutely nothing. When we were able to start the car, the radio was flickering and looked really strange.
