not necessarily. their 150 point inspection was, most likely, a COSMETIC inspection. most dealers that claim to inspect the vehicle before they sell it do not check mechanical parts. trac off means your traction control system has been turned off. check your owners manual for the procedure to turn on/off your traction controll. (if it didnt come with one, take your vehicle back and tell them to check for you). if turning the traction control on doesnt turn off the light, take the vehicle back to the dealer and tell them you dont want it, because they are trying to screw you, the traction control system may have been removed, and when this is done a new ecu is needed if you ever want that light to go out. the vsc is your vehicle stability control light......same as above, if its malfunctioning, it usually means that the vehicle is a repaired wreck, or that the engine has been swapped and the engine they used isnt compatible with your ecu.....while it might run and drive fine, you will get all sorts of crazy lights and error messages over the life of the car and it will make buying internal parts a NIGHTMARE.

obviously they did disconnect a sensor while they were working on your vehicle.this will set a code in your vehicle's computer. They call this a soft code since there was not a failure but it just did not sense a signal. After reconnecting it clears the code after so many ignition cycles, meaning turning the key on and off so many times. The code is stored in the computer so it would be a good idea to take it to the dealer to check it out and make sure there are no other problems

It is probably a oil pressure problem. If there is some sort of small blockage in an oil journal it could stop oil from flowing to the lifters which would cause the the tapping noise. at this point the best thing to do would be to try and flush out the engine with some sort of desludging agent. One thing i usualy do is drain the oil and re-fill it with atf and run it for about half an hour or an hour and then re-drain and replace with normal engine oil. transmission fluid contains tonnes of detergents and should help clean out any blockages.

firstly it could be that the check engine light is mal-functioning or not. why not drive it as they said and if after that its still on get back to us.
Testimonial: "This is very helpful information. I just would like to know, once the cycles completes will the check engine go out on its own or not?"

How is your fuel system. Is the filter dirty? - fuel pressure ok? Let me know. Thanks.
