1998 v70 estate auto transmission / coolant loss problem, no leaks visible

Do you smell antifreeze in the interior? It may be a leak in the heater core system. Does the engine run rough? Then it is a head gasket, if so, you should see more white exhaust than usual.

Hi I have a 2003 Mazda 6 and it's using oil

Is it using it or loosing it? Have you a leak? If not then what is the usage level. If its high mileage engine then then a litre per 1000 miles isn't unusual but Mazda's are good normally so if its ever had the engine oil dangerously low then some wear could have happened that's blighted a normally good engine. Piston rings are usually the first to suffer. Then the oil consumption goes up. A compression test won't always guide you, because its the oil control rings that suffer.

My toyota altis 2004 consumes engine oil,about 1 litre per week?

Whats the milage on it?
you seem to have a serious leak, have you checked if it leaves an oil puddle after you parked overnight, if not, try that next morning.
Is is burning oil, do you see blue smoke come out of the tailpipe, if you do, then you are seriously burning oil, engine is asking for an overhaul...
Good luck...

My 1998 B2500TD has started loosing/using excessive coolant on both local (4 litres a week) and long distance (1 litre/100km) journeys. There is no sign of leakage, temp remains normal, no sign of water in...

Probably the start of a head gasket breech. You can buy a block tester at your local parts store for thirty to forty dollars. Follow the insructions in the box, and it will detect exhaust gasses in your coolant. this is a pretty sure way to detect a combustion to cooling system breech. The cat converter may be masking the white smoke from the coolant once it reaches temp.

Loosing antifreeze but no visible leaks and none in engine oil. Also heater blows cold. Could thermostat be causing it to blow it out of overflow tube?

Hello, you may be right on the money.

How to test the thermostat in most vehicles;

Make sure the heater is off, start the engine and let it run for 6 to 8 minutes, ( this will allow the
engine to reach, " normal operating temperature "), from the inside of the vehicle turn the heater
temperature on high and turn the fan speed on high.
1. Listen very closely for a click sound from the engine, ( most thermostats make a click when
they open )
2. Watch your temperature guage, it should begin to lower as the coolant starts to circulate.
3. Usually within a few minutes the radiator fan will kick.

What the thermostat does;

It seperates your coolant into two parts. The first part is in your engine, the second part is in your
radiator and the coolant reservior. When the coolant in the engine reaches the temperature rating
on the thermostat the thermostat opens to allow the two parts of coolant to change places. Now
the cooled coolant in the radiator and reservior flows into the engine while the heated coolant flows
from the engine into the radiator and reservior to be air cooled by the radiator fan.

I hope this helps you.

My 2001 lincoln ls slowly moves to overheating when it is running it doesnt jump but it overheats need to know why

These cars have a hydraulic cooling fan, and they can go bad.
The usual potential cooling problems apply, and the crazy hydralic drive just makes it more complicated. An electric fan is good or bad, but a hydralic fan can slowly loose the ability to spin fast enought to get the job done
