So, I wasn't having any problems then my car sat for 2 days after Christmas and when I drove it home (yesterday) the problem suddenly began. It started with a clunking noise and a bit of vibration when accelerating in 4th and 5th. Then today after driving the car for 10 minutes the vibration got worse and the noise in much louder. This is now happening in all gears between 2k & 3k rpm and lessens to a fine vibration at higher speeds. Again, this only happens during acceleration. If the car is in neutral it wont happen, I can rev the engine and no noise. The clutch seems to be working fine, no problems with shifting the engine sounds normal but when I speed up its a very loud clunk and the vibration almost feels like something hitting the firewall. Other than that nothing is wrong with the car that I'm aware of other than an exhaust leak that developed early last week. I'm about to get under the car but I'd thought I'd post and see if I can get some feedback any input is very much appreciated. Thanks.

So far a shop mechanic told me it was the motor mounts which will cost 500+ to replace all 4 and another mechanic said that only one of my motor mounts are bad but that isn't the problem. He says the spark plugs are bad and that they are causing this....I'm still not sure
check your universal joint on your drive shaft sounds bad thats why it clunks when you put it in gear
