Check the condition of the fuel pump relay first and the condition of the wiring in both connectors inside and outside of tank second. Check condition of the ground wire return where it attaches to body- it may be broken or corroded. Inside of the tank as well. Also check to see if you have 12 volts at the pump- if not, check fuse and other wiring for damage.

Also check to make sure the oil pressure switch is intact and functioning correctly.

Start but quit running. i put a new fuel pump on it and a new fuel pressure regulator on it to. what do you think the promblem is

What make , model and year vehicle ? It makes a difference . It does start but stops running right away ? Before replacing the pump and regulator did you do a fuel pressure test ? Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge ? Or just guessing that was the problem ? And did your test the electrical circuit of the fuel pump ?

The fuel pump is working fine, and the car runs fine, just after something gets hot somewhere the car shuts down, like no power

when dies check and feel the fuel pump relay if hot --replace with a same number relay from board to test or plug in a new one --and start --or check pump new doesnt mean free from defects it may be drawing excess amps and causing he relay to pop or pump to shut down

My 2001 Chevy Cavalier acts like it is not getting gas, a new fuel pump and fuel filter and line was put on and it quit again on me, another fuel pump, spark plugs or points was put on and still will

Check your lines, specifically where your filter housing goes into the fuel tank. I had the same issue and I just had to replace that filter along with a hose. It seems the line somehow got clogged. I hope you find this helpful.

2000 gmc sierra 1500 v8 fuel pump

I've actually had this happen to me more than once, with different pumps. Quite honestly, the first time it happened, I gave up and bought a new pump. The new pump I got was an Airtex, which out of the box, it worked whenever it wanted to, and this time, I found out why. The main electrical connector, on top of the pump, if it was "bumped" or "moved" a certain way, it would cut off all power to the pump. Weird, I know. Needless to say, that pump got returned, went with a different brand, and never had that problem again.

What's the difference between fuel pump & replacement fuel pump

I dont think you have a fuel pump problem, It sounds to me like you have an alternator problem. You see when your alternator quits working the car will run on your battery juice untill it is out of juice and all electrical will go out when you put a new battery on it it will start working again untill the new battery is out of juice or untill the alternator is replaced. If the vehicle wont run then the fuel pump might have went bad too. I hope that helps you out.
