2000 Stratus won't start after battery change

I changed the battery on my 2000 Dodge Stratus and now the engine will turn over but it won't start. Engine was running fine before the battery change. Someone told me that it had something to do with the factory installed alarm system but I can't find anything about that.

There is a small black box on the passenger side under hood next to the transmission module which contains 2 relays, on e of these is your fuel rail relay that automatically shuts down fuel to your engine if tripped I am pretty sure you may have tripped this relay during charging or battery removal, if you removed your battery. sometimes tapping on this relay can reset it. have someone check it for you.

Which wire did you hook up first? If you hooked up red wire first you may have took out the PCM/BCM The theft light may be flashing or on, check owners manual or call dealer to find out specific's. But check connections make sure they are tight and do not move, check battery voltage.

Why would a 2000 Stratus rough idle then die?

if now it won`t start it could be a spark(ignition)problem, check for spark at the plug. you should check for a code in the pcm this may help, not all codes set the check engine light. could also be a bad fuel pressure problem.

sounds like to me the catalatic converter is plugged up, usually if you cant get an engine to rev anything over 2000 2500 rpms it has a breathing problem... its a real good possiblity its the converter causing your problem, especially if you had problems with another engine at any time, with like antifreeze issues, or fuel issues.. it goes strait to the exhaust and out the tail pipe.
hope this helps
