SOURCE: jeep wont hardley idle ..when speed gets up to

Sounds like a possibility of a vacuum leak. Inspect the vacuum tubing for damage or wear or just not being connected. One mechanic's trick is to spray carburetor cleaner on the vacuum lines with the engine running. Use safety goggles when trying this. If there is a vacuum leak - when the carb cleaner hits it the engine will speed up.

Have you checked the coolant temp sensor. They also have something called a MAP(manifold absolute pressure) sensor that could be causing this issue. This sensor will have a 4 pin connector and 1 vacuum line going to it. Should be on the firewall, just behind the engine.

Try changing the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter... mainly if you have seen a change in the gas mileage.

2002 grand cherokee engine tapping loudly

My first guess would be a failing valve lifter. They can become weak with age and not able to hold oil pressure.
Especially in an engine with that many miles on the clock.
If the noise is constant you may be able to find out which cylinder by running a compression test. maybe.

Please any suggestion ? 98' V8 5.2 ; Won't turn after highway run ! Either left or right, cranky noise , shaking ,strong vibration from the front wheels.BUT; when is cooling down -after 30 min.

I suggest that you check your front CV joints. It is common for the boots to tear, allowing the grease to leak out. Lack of lubrication, dirt and moisture destroys the joint. You can purchase a remanufactured shaft ready to install at some part stores. I have a '93 Grand Cherokee with 220,000 miles, and over its life, I have replaced both sides twice. Good luck!

1997 jeep grand Cherokee dies while driving.Somtime starts right up,somtime not.Changed air filter, spark plugs,wires,d-cap, ignition coil, map sensor and computer.Latley I've noticed that I'm not getting...

If the ignition turns on and dies while driving, you might have a clogged idle air control valve. The valve is located in the throtle body, just below the air intake hose. Locate the idle air control valve, un plug the connector, unscrew it (you will need star screw driver) and next clean it using an electronic contact cleaner spray, I use 3M for that. Next, make sure all cleaning liquid inside is gone (it evaporates quickly) and re assemble it. This should solve your problem once for all.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Stalls out, engine quits running

since its a 1997 your jeep has EFI, electronic fuel injection. The most probable reason for your troubles would be the injectors or a problem with the computer controling them, not allowing enough gas to be pushed into the cylinder causing stalling or lack of power, also too much gas iin the cylinder can lead to back firing and stalling. This would also explain the reason it takes so long to start back up some times, all the excess gas in the cylinder is flooding the motor and u have to wait till the gas disipates till the engine will turn over.
