How do you remove the door panels to get to the window?
There should be six or seven allen wrench screws around the edge of the door panels. Loosening these releases the retaining clips inside. You will then want to remove the manual window crank if you have one by laying two fingers flat on the door panel and pushing the ring around the base of the crank sideways. You might have to rotate around this as it only pushes one way. Next you will have to remove the two large golden screws directly under the door panels handle. If you have rear door panel speakers you will have to politely pry off the speaker grill with a flat blade screwdriver and remove the speakers four screws and the wire clip from behind the speaker. You will also have to unscrew the door lock post. Then you should be able to lift the door panel up to release the top lip of it from the door.
the jetta I'm working on has electric windows and door locks
did you figure it out ... it seems to be bolted in and I can't get to the bolt and my door panel seems to be glued to the inside
Got it ... pryed the door handle off with a screwdriver ... comes off pretty easy ... removed the cables and got to the two screws to pull off the panel!!!
