Usually a sign of a burnt-damaged intake valve or problem with the cam timing, or a problem with the distributor cap and wires.

1998 eclipse 2.0l dohc, starts but no run, has fuel, new head/belt and spark

If it pops when trying to start then you have installed the timing belt incorrectly. When replacing the timing belt you the camshaft and the crankshaft have to be lined up correctly. If they are not then you will get the pop out of the exhaust and the intake when the spark plug fires and either the intake or exhaust valve or valves are open. If it is a high interference engine you will bend valves as they hit the top of the pistons because the valves are compressed and extending into the cylinder. I guarantee you your valve train is out of sync with the crankshaft.

My crank shaft is rotating twise the crank shaft. HOW MY 1342 FIRING WILL OCCURE?, I can spare only 30 digree for charge and spark plug contact. THERE ARE ONLY 2+2 CYLINDER. 180 DIGREE APPART KINDLY REPLY...

Your crankshaft turns 2x times the camshaft. Put it this way as # 1 cylinder reaches TDC (top dead center) of the firing/compression stroke, and this will be after a (8 degs BTDC) spark to ignite the air/fuel mix, the # 3 cyl. will be at BDC of the intake stroke and as #1 begins its power down stroke, (during explosion of air/fuel mix), #3 begins its compression up stroke, the #4 cyl. will be coming down with #1 cyl. but #4 will be in the beginning of its intake down stroke, and #2 cyl. will be coming up with #3 but #2will be in its BDC of the exhaust stroke. Which has just fired previously to #1. 1342134213421342 etc. Now the cam turns to open / close the valves; In the outline above, #1 cyl. valves will both be closed. #3 cyl. will have the intake starting to close at this point. #4 cyl. will just be starting to open its intake valve, and #2 will be starting to open its exhaust valve. Is all this clear as mud? So as the crank makes one full rotation (in a 4cyl. engine) only the firing of one cylinder has happened.and at every rotation one cyl. will fire. So #1 at TDC then one full rotation, #1 back at TDC, but this TDC is half of its 4 cycles, (1)Intake, (2)compression, (3)power, (4)exhaust. this 1234 refers to the 4 cycles of the rotation not firing order.

Explain the four stroke cycleof a three cylinder

Is this a quiz? Each cylinder contains one piston that takes four strokes to coplete a a full cycle. the intake-down,compression-up, power-down, exhaust -up.
A two stroke has up and down only . Compression and power Now, I thik you really meant the firing order. I'm not sure but Would make sense 2-3-2?

1994 camaro 3.4 v6. backfiring and poping through intake.

I had the same problem, thinking it was bad gas, or bad wires, or even a clogged fuel filter, had the engine checked out by a reputable gear head. A head bolt broke, then a intake lobe from cylinder #4 spun round thus causing your car to constantly backfire, also check to see if your head gaskets aren't blown (water-n-oil), all these were found once the engine was disassembled. Good luck trying to find a good used 3.4

What is the firing order for a 2006 ford tauras

Sir,
There are two firing order sequences for the FORD V-6. It depends on which engine you have. The first is 1-4-2-5-3-6. The second is
1-4-2-3-5-6. The in-line six cylinder engines use: 1-5-3-6-2-4. You should look at the intake manifold to see which firing order your car uses. The firing order is normally stamped or embossed on the top of the intake manifold.

Distrbutor to spark plug wiring

Hey there janandshane,

I've got a 91 Wrangler, lots of fun. Here's your info.

Viewed from above, front of vehicle on the right side, cylinder locations are:
6 5 4 3 2 1 for a six cylinder and 4 3 2 1 for a four Cylinder

The firing order is:
1 5 3 6 2 4 for the six and 1 3 4 2 for the four.

The distributor rotation is clockwise.

To find Top dead center (for wire to cylinder #1 on distributor), look for and line up the timing marks on the crankshaft (front of the engine).

Or, pull the #1 spark plug, stuff the hole with a cork or a rag. Slowly crank the engine until the cork pops out.

Pull the distributor off. The rotor is pointing where the plug for cylinder #1 should go. The rest of the wires go in the firing order clockwise.

That about covers it.

Remember: Good things come to those who rate. How about a nice FixYa?
