Shoot/burn the car! you might need to replace the connector from the computer to the scanner or the computer. thats just an opinion.

alot of cars show a crankposition sensor on a test if it was bad car would not run unless you have a problem with car stalling or running bad when it gets hot not a ignition module if car still runs good not a major problem one problem would be a bad 02 sensor does not mess with car alot gas milage loss mabe slight hesitaion look at sensors that dont mess with engine if not 02

SOURCE: service engine soon light comes on and goes off

The service engine soon light comes on for many reasons..it could be as simple as CO2 sensor, or it may just be one of the lights that just stays on, ask your local GM garagre to reset the code for you..maybe cost you a couple bucks.

SOURCE: The check engine, abs, and trac off lights all

Wheel speed sensor that is inside the wheel bearing hub or possibly the wiring harness that connects to the sensor has gone bad. If there are no issues with the harness, then the wheel hub will need to be replaced.

I just bought a 1991 oldsmobile 98 touring sedan put in a new batterie an bolts cleaned terminel wires car started an ran fine drove for half a day or so an now dosent have enough power to turn the moter...

Sounds like the alternator is not charging the battery - - if you can charge the battery with a booster I would check the alternator output.
Could be a faulty fuseable link at the starter or corrosion inside one of the battery cables too.

How do i read the check engine codes on a 95 cutlass supreme

If it is OBD-1 you can use a paper clip to jumper two terminals in the test plug under the dash, and then watch the check engine light flash. If it is OBD-2 you need a code reader or scanner.
Most auto parts stores will read OBD-2 systems for free in hopes of selling you some parts.

My check engine light had been come'n on and going off now its staying on what should i do....

Get an OBD-II scanner (like a $98 one at Walmart) that can scan the computer for stored codes. This can tell you what to check for and lead to a solution for your engine's problem.

There are hundreds of possible codes that can arise on today's engines that can affect driveability and efficiency.

Malfunction indication light on chryler 300 touring car

Hello. That light indicates that the car's computer has sensed a problem and has a error message available. To access that message the computer must be scanned. AAMCO repair shops and some auto parts stores will scan for no charge. J.

Check engine warning light stays on. I have a 1991 ford econoline 250 5.8 van conversion. thank you

Sorry this one doesn't have a good answer. After 1996 cars use what's called OBD2 (on board diagnostic version 2) This allows anybody to use a handheld scanner to test any car for "check engine" light. But before 1996 each manufacturer had their own OBD. So only the dealer could check it or you would have to buy a specific scanner for Fords only. I have a OBD2 scanner. You might ask your local autoparts store what they have to read your code. Otherwise you have to take to dealer or mechanic that has the right scanner. I wish you well.

How can i remove the "check engine light" or reset it?

you must have an obdII compliant code reader or scanner to access the computer system on your vehicle, some of the major parts stores can do this for you. you cannot remove the bulb, it is part of the computer system.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON MY 91 SENTRA

Most cases you'll need a scanner to do this.
Most autoparts stores will do this for you for free. Places like Autozone or Kragen Autoparts.

Check engine light. 91 ford F250 5.8

Yes you can use a piece of wire on the Diagnostic Link Connector and the Self Test Input connector.
The DLC may or maynot be labeled, but it is the top right position you connect to the STI to get the codes. Can be read with the Check Engine Light. I would suggest getting a service manual from a parts store to help with this diagnostic, it has the codes list.

Check engine light

Do you have an Autozone or an Advance Auto Parts store near you? If so, take the car to them & get them to install their scanner on your car. Record the codes & get back to me.
