SOURCE: Fuel Filter Location

The fuel filter for a mark VIII (at least in my 1993), is behind the wheelwall on the front passenger side of the car. You will need to take the wheel off and also take off the black covering by pulling out the plastic mounts and metal screws. as soon as those are removed, you will not miss the filter mounted to the inside left of the wheelwell

Where is the 97 mark 8 fuel filter at
Go to your passenger side and the fuel rails can be seen right there near the edge of the car. Follow them down toward your tire and you will run right into the fuel filter.

Do you have to drop fuel tank to change fuel pump on 93 mark v111
The fuel pump is a submerged type located inside the gas tank. You need to drop the tank to get to it since it goes in thru the top. Major undertaking, The fuel FILTER is located behind the cowling on the passenger side front wheel well. Better get a shop/Chilton manual if you plan on doing it yourself or you can pick up the fuel pump at Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools.
