SOURCE: 1989 honda prelude enigne idles high then low irratic

I had the same problem on a Rover. There was a leak in inlet manifold that was caussing the problem.
To verify, spray some sealant to temporarily seal the inlet manifold .and the eratic idling should disappear for some time.
If it does, you know there is leak in inlet manifold which you can take of and refit with a new gasket.

SOURCE: 1989 honda prelude. engine surges. from normal to 2100 rpms

There is a warm up valve on the throttle body(should have 2 small coolant hoses). remove the valve and have someone start the car while you block the port to the valve on the intake. If that clears up the problem you can cut a piece of cardboard to mount in between the valve and intake.should straighten it out.

The FuseLink is blown. It is a 100 AMP in-line fuse on the red wire from the alternator.

My 1990 prelude will not charge the batt while driving and batt light is on

you will need a new alternator. battery light means there is no charge in the electrical system. always first check the earths and wires before changing the alternator as a faulty earth can also be the main problem.

1994 Honda Prelude si starting problems

Your starter motor is either not getting power or in need of replacement. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with your car.

Also check your battery connections for no corrosion there as well as by the starter motor. Low voltage circuits in a car are extremely vulnerable to poor contact issues.

I have a honda prelude 1989 and it just turn off for no reason. i changed the battery and it wont turn on no even the lights

check the fuses under the hood usually on the passenger strut wall , there is a power lead that feeds them check with a test light to see if there is power going in and fuses light up if not trace back to battery and replace
