Check ignition coil see if its getting battery power check black and pink ignition wire going to ignition coil.if you not getting power check the 20AMP ignition fuse.if power going to ignition coil, problem could be bad ignition coil or bad ignition module or pcm problems, best have vechicle code scan for pcm fault or crankshaft position sensor or ignition module fault.

SOURCE: 2000 cavalier- turns over won't start, spark plugs

The answer is "YES"... The pump could be weak, or the fuel filter could be clogged... Thats what I would start at now having eliminated the things you have said already...

SOURCE: Starting problem

Try the idle air control valve it is located near the throttle body it has a four wire plug and has two small hoses attached to it this is a small stepper motor that controls the amount of air on start up this part will cost about $200 from a popular auto parts store.

SOURCE: 2005 Cavalier misfiring on 2 cylinders, dumping fuel

Spark plugs get there voltage from the ignition coil packs, more then likely you have a bad coil pack or coil pack boot, pull one coil pack or spark plug wire or boot at a time, if you see a drop in rpm, that one is good, if no drop bad coil pack.

do you have compression on every cylinder? that may be your problem, that's the suggestion i'll make. pull each spark plug one at a time and do a compression check to make sure you have compression. if you don't have the tool, they are not that expensive to purchase. hope this helps you out!! although, if you do this test and it's good compression, i would lean more towards it could be out of time. meaning it could possibly have jumped time but you said the belt was good, it could have jumped a tooth or two which would mean a no start also.

Have you checked fuel pressure at the rail with a gauge ? It may be too low to let the engine start. Or the injectors may not be opening.

2005 Cadillac CTS 2.8L misfire on 2, 4 & 6

I would have installed new spark plugs, all new coils
& mailed away the injectors to be ultra sonic cleaned
while the motor was out.

I wouldn't do compression,do cylinder leak down test
before, you ever install any motor, to check it's mechanical
condition

Replace front or upstream O2 Sensors, as I assume they
have over 100,000 miles on them

Check fuel pressure & use professional scan tool software
to look at ALL data

95 Park Avenue Ultra dies for no reason I can find, I've replaced the crank sensor, cam ssensor, spark module, fuel filter, I've had the injectors tested, fuel pump tested, plugs & wires t

As you have probably figured out by now, you will have to treat it as a no start and troubleshoot it when it fails to start. Until you figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel to the injectors when the engine dies you have no direction to go in.

L999 Chevy Cavalier keeps blowing fuses and won't start

you have a SERIOUS electrical problem. - '.
BUT which fuses keep blowing - that is where we need to start.
1. is it the ignition circuit. - - does starter motor turn over when you trun the key.
2. is it the starter relay circuit.
3. is it the starter motor circuit.
4. is it the computer circuit. - - do you have fuel pumping to the engine and cylinders.
5. none of the above. - - do you have spark at the spark plugs.

What is the scheduled maintenence requirement for a timing belt on a 2005 chevy cavalier?

assuming you have a 2.2 lt ecotec engine, according to what i read from GM reports, they say these motors are suppose to be pretty much maintenance free! ha! so they say. i've had nothing else but problems with them & so has all my family & friends. true, but unless you've had major problems with it you should never have to even touch the timing chain @ all. i drove my old FORD into the gound @ 635,000 klts, took great care of it & never changed the timing chain on it. ya, you guessed it, i'm a ford man & always will be. my wife is selling her cavalier. all the best.

2005 cavalier won't start

In this situation you have to determine what is the cause.... is it spark???? or is it fuel???
these are the very least of the basics any car man has to take in order to determine where he is going with this vehicle...first spray some ether into the air intake and see if she attempts to run...if yes its a fuel problem...low fuel...dirty fuel/filter clogged/fuel pump malfunction(in the Tank) or fuel pump relay defective(can you hear the pump with the key turned on??? If yes the pump and relay is Ok.

secondly pull a plug wire and ground a screw driver between the plug wire and the plug leaving an air gap about 1/4 in..... have someone crank it over.... is it snapping/sparking???? If so spark(ignition) should be ok problem is fuel.
