You need an assistant firstly ,then a longish bar ,now make sure resevoir is filled then get assistant to push donw on clutch then holding the pedal down pull the clutch arm back in and tighten the bleed nipple then repeat and about three times is enough ,then you will see the clutch arm operating if the clutch doesnt work and the arm is operating then suspect a clutch fault

Well, you size the wrench needed for the bleed valve on the slave cylinder, mounted on the transmission housing 8 or 10 mm in most cases. Make sure the clutch reservoir is full, and kept full. Then you'll need a trusted assistant to work the pedal-one who will understand the reasoning and procedure behind bleeding a hydraulic system of air trapped inside the lines-it hinders hydraulic pressure on the clutch fork to make the clutch work at all. I say trusted because you dont wanna make it an unpleasant experience (I've participated in quite enough of those videos!) Patiently explain that the clutch pedal should be depressed slowly and steadily to the floor after you have opened the bleed valve and kept depressed to the floor until you have closed the valve. So just as the pedal starts traveling down, open the bleed valve, fluid is forced down through the line and out the open valve. Best if you close it just before the pedal reaches the floor-as soon as pressure is let off, air has a chance to re-enter through the open valve, so close it quick. A couple of times should do it-when you have a steady stream of fluid, no more air, and you know the line is bled of any possibility of air, then finish tighten the bleed valve, not too tight. Check the reservoir again, and take your trusted associate to dinner.

there is no bleed valve except a plastic one which doesnt have a way to loosen nor is it on the housing... there is a hole that appears to be wet but idk any pics?

I see colin has the procedure for this car.. Do it like that. the plastic must be the bleed nipple. Luck.dd a Comment

you need to pump the pedal hard then release the bleed nipple then before you foot hits the floor close the nipple quick, you may have to do this several times to get out the air that is rising quicker than you are pumping out the fluid.....

2008 Nissan Versa. I have a Versa and the slave cylinder went bad. I brought the part. Is it a big job.

Usually pretty easy apart from the fact you are doing it under the vehicle. From ones I have done. Undo the hydraulic pipe, undo the bolts on the slave cylinder and remove it. Bolt the new one in place, reconnect the pipe and then bleed the air out.

It will be the same as these videos irrespective of make and model

I have a 2009 manual Nissan Versa but I can’t get it in gear. What should I be looking for to troubleshoot the issue

Is the clutch hydraulic? Probably. is there sufficient fluid in the reservoir? They use brake fluid. Is there evidence of leaking in either the master cylinder (follow clutch pedal through the firewall) or Slave (look by the transmission)

Often pumping the clutch will reestablish pressure and activate the clutch - to engage a gear. But fluid must exist.

Where is the slave cylinder located on 2009 nissan versa 1.8 sedan

Presumably the slave cylinder you seek is the clutch slave cylinder?

If the clutch is hydraulically operated and the slave cylinder and operating lever/linkage isn't visible, the cylinder could be a coaxial type mounted inside the clutch housing.
Following the hydraulic pipe/hose should provide a clue...
