The fuse goes to the clock memory, radio memory, power window, power mirrors, power seat and power door locks. I disconnected the radio and the fuse still blows. The funny parts is that my windows and power seats still work but nothing else. Dealership service dept. said that based on symptoms that two wires are touching each other. I looked at the wires in the corregated rubber wire conduit on the driver and passenger doors and they look brand new. I don't know where else to look and I don't know what the wiring diagram looks like for the number 8 fuse.
TRY UNPLUGGING DIFFERENT SECTIONS OF WIRING IF THERE ARE JOINS ON THEM
I need a wiring diagram for that fuse. The power windows and the power seats still work even though the fuse is out. According to the owners manual the power windows are protected by another fuse also. Not sure if this is a backup or not. The EATC is mentioned in four fuses but I don't even have that. But the power seats are not. if the windows work because of the other fuse then that only leaves the power seats. I don't know what the wires could be connected to to be giving them power. If the wires are connected to another wire wouldn't that blow another fuse for the other devices that are controlled by the wires because of the extra current pull?

This is a simple job You must remove the door panel. Then from the inside of the door there is 3 bolts that hold it on pull these bolts and unpluge the connector and thats it.

check the relay in the box under the hood and also make sure no one turned the button off to all the window controls on the driverside door panel

Hard to believe the fix I have for you but it worked for us and totally surprised us too. We have a 1997 Mercury Sable, power everything and the drivers side window would not go up but all other windows worked fine. I called a car place to see about how much it would cost to fix and he told me to do this......sit in car with car on and have the door open to the window that won't go up, now hold the button in the UP position on the window and slam the door(even might have to have someone slam it for you)....when we did this the window went straight up perfectly and worked fine afterward and for 2 years. So please try it. The guy told us it would work on any power windows in any car because it just jumps the bad part or place in the window thingy lol.....good luck.
