I have a 1997 Chevy Venture. I replaced the fuel pump, and relay. Checked all the fuses, and they were good. We then proceeded to tear the interior apart and check all the wring by tracing from pump to fuse box as we had no power. Found more grounds and checked them to. All good. As we were moving the wiring around we all of a sudden had power again. We also replaced the battery. We put everything back together and the van started up. Ran good. I then took it for a test drive and it quit. I thought it might be out of fuel so we put 10 gallons in. It still won't start. Just cranks over and will not fire. I checked the harness going to the pump again and it has no power again. What do you suggest from here.

At the fuel pump relay you should have 1 full time hot wire. 1 hot wire when you turn on the switch. 1 ground, and the other wire goes to the pump. Test the ground to be sure it is good. If so then jump a hot to the one that goes to the pump and see if it runs.If it does then you have a bad relay or ECM. You can swap the relay with another of the same # from tour fuse box to test it.There is also a ground on top of the frame near the filler neck, check it too. Good Luck

SOURCE: 2000 chevy venture doesnt start

Not the IAC, or MAF, or 02

Does the Van Crank over?
Have you checked the IGN Relays? 1,2,and 3?
How did the Battery test out?
Anything below 11.9v battery is dead.
So I suggest that you do not throw any more parts and check the battery again.

Well you have already confirmed there is a short in the harness or a connector.
If you can't find it, the next best thing would be to run a new wire from the pump relay back to the connector at the gas tank.

No power to fuel pump on 99 chevy venture

If you do not have power on the GRAY wire at the fuel pump.........
switch the fuel relay with a same type good relay in the relay box and check for power again.
REMEMBER ...YOU WILL ONLY HAVE POWER 2 OR 3 SECONDS AT PUMP AFTER KEY IS TURNED TO RUN POSITION......after key has been off for 10 seconds.(or when there is oil pressure)
If no power in the gray wire at this point and you have checked ALL fuses in engine compartment and on right (pass ) side of dash panel facing pass door.......add your own jumper to supply power to system at fuel pump fuse and test again.........if power at pump now....install a permanent jumper (SWITCHED POWER....OFF WITH KEY) at fuse box......if still no power check all connections between fuse box and pump.....or run new power feed wire to pump gray wire and disconnect old.

My 99 chevy venture is not getting power to fuel pump

You probably have a bad fuel pump relay. It's in the fuse box under the hood.
