1988 nissan sentra air conditioner no power

I came to the conclusion that there is no power to the switch that turns on the air conditioner. I was working on the dash board everything else works but the air conditioner and the switch that turns it on. using a multi tester I found that the switch is not getting power. The fuses are in working order.

I will check that, but the interior switch still does not light up blue. This started when I started taking out the dashboard. Thats what made me think it was electrical. I will recheck the pressure and condenser oil levels. I might have sprung a leak the same time I was workin on the dash.

Not all switches switch the possitive side of the electrical cicuit, sometimes it switches the negative side and than you wont find current there. The airconditioner unit has a low pressure switch in the system somewhere in the pipe that monitors the amount of gas in the system and if the gas is not enough the switch will not allow current to flow through to the compressor, it is just to protect the compressor from siezing up if there is no lubricant in the system

I have a 1988 Nissan Sentra. When I turn the key

Your problem is definately not a relay. It sounds as if the starter contact in your ignition switch is bad. The solution is to replace the ignition switch.

Nissan sentra 1998 air conditioner problem

The problem is most likely one of the following:-

1) Open circuit blower motor series dropping resistor - this resistor module is usually located in the blower motor ducting in the air flow.

2) Faulty fan speed control switch, or poor connection in the associated wiring.

Don't know cost of these items.
