SOURCE: check engine light code p1603
When I went outside to start my Jaguar X-Type it was cold outside. I was in a hurry and didn't let the car warm up properly. It jumped a bit then the check engine light came on along with a message that said No cruise control. The no cruise light came off but my check engine light is still on. Any suggestions as to what it may be?
SOURCE: C1174,P1111, C1175, and P1603 code in Jaguar Xtype
ok the p1111 code is a system check readiness code...the other codes fuel and air mixture codes....please check the upper breather hose under the engine cover...take a philips head screw driver, remove the cover,,,you will see a hose running from the valve cover to the upper intake...check this hose for any cracks...this will usually create a vacuum leak, and cuase the car to run lean or have too much air and sputter...if you want me to send the code meanings I can but on these cars this is usually the issue...Keep me posted
SOURCE: 2005 Jaguar X-type p1796, p1797 fault codes -
both of these codes refer to the transmission,it is now in LIMP HOME MODE,the codes refer to open or shorted circuits in the CAN (controlled area network) the computer system in the car. check for blown fuses first, then have the car scanned with a european scan tool which is capable of bi-directional communication with the vehicle, get back to me if you need more help,Please rate my fix as i strive to be the best Thanks Ray
