Heater fan quit working. has power to both sides of the fuse but, no power to the switch. fan works when hard wired to the battery figured it was a break in the wire but then the fuse would only have power to one side. couldn't be a short either, otherwise it would keep popping fuses. what could be the problem?
Do you know what a splice in a wiring harness is ? Looking at a wiring diagram for the heater / A/C controller . I see S221 ,may have a break in the wire right there . Look here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model , an engine size . Under system click on HVAC , then under subsystem click on HVAC control's ,then click the search button ,then the first blue link . Scroll down to the thrid diagram. If you had factory service info. you could find the location of that splice .

use a 12 volt tester an check the wires at the motor if you have power there than its probably your wiper motor
SOURCE: 1983 Chevrolet Suburban Heater fan not working
check relay and blower resistor...likely the relay is bad.
SOURCE: fan quit on 87 celebrity, heat ac, etc.. fuse ok ????
Hi
Check for bad connection at heater resistor or try tapping heater motor lightly
with ignition switch on and heater switch on. Could be heater switch connection.
SOURCE: 2003 Suburban heater fan will not working.
1st attach a test light from negative battery terminal to voltage wire at blower motor and test for power
2nd attach a test light from positive battery terminal
to ground wire at blower motor and test for ground
if both tests light the test light suspect blower motor
if no ground suspect resistor
if no power suspect short in voltage wire
these vehicles are known for burning out the wire
connection at the blower motor look for discoloration
at the plug
i hope this helps

the heater/ac fuse look in your owners man. it should have a diagram or give you a number.
Testimonial: "Thanks. I actually looked in the manual and saw a fuse listed for AC; didn't know it was the same one for the heater."
