I'm looking for the emergency shut off switch. It's not where the manual is stating. This is a centurion package crew cab f-350 7.3 diesel.
This should not have a emergency shut off they are on gas engines not diesel engines
if you have the electronic injectors it could be the shitch on the high pressuer oil pump
is bad or other problems with high pressure oil system pump lack of oil in resovor ect
also check all fuses and relays under hood
these are not as user frendly as the older 7.3 s were good luck
The inertia fuel shutoff switch is located Behind RH cowl panel, on inertia fuel shutoff.
I'm not sure if my last one posted so i'm reposting.
First check your glow plug relay to make sure it is not burned up, it sits on top of passenger side valve cover, if not there is an electronic fuel regulator/valve that sits on the frame rail, driverside by the front fuel tank, it controls tank selection and fuel return, if it is bad basically it doesn't select a tank to draw fuel from and it won't start. Usaually when this goes bad there are some fuses under the hood that blow, so check those also. hope this helps
I HAVE 01 F-550 WITH 7.3 DIESEL AND I CANNOT GET IT TO START. I HAVE THE CAM SENSOR,MOTOR HARNESS, GLOW PLUGS,VALVE COVER GASKET.
My 1999 PSD 7.3 F350 has the inertial fuel shutoff switch. Either that or they stuck the sticker in the engine bay out of habit! I will check the Shop Manual tonight and see what I can find. It may not be the same on your 1996, but I bet it is.
I vote for Snorkelbobby's answer.
FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
This device stops the electric fuel pump from sending fuel to the engine
when your vehicle has had a substantial jolt.
After an accident, if the engine cranks but does not start, this switch
may have been activated.
The fuel pump shut-off switch is
located in the front passenger
footwell area in the right upper
corner.
To reset the switch:
1. Turn the ignition to 1 (LOCK).
2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
3. If no leaks are apparent, reset the
switch by pushing in on the reset
button.
4. Turn the ignition to 3 (RUN).
5. Wait a few seconds and return
the key to 1 (LOCK).
6. Make another check for leaks.
