My dad drove to the store with my son, when he left the store to come home, it started perfect. They came home, an went to go take my son to his grandma an it wouldn't start. It wanting to but wont turn?
Hi Jennifer, I believe that it purely coincidence that this problem started when your dad drove the car. There is basically nothing he could have done to promote the problem. I believe the fault has something to do with the anti theft device becoming active. If you can manage to have the car diagnostically scanned and the key encodement re activated I'm thinking that will sort out the problem. Even if that is not the problem the diagnostic scan will pin point where the problem is. Regards John
John, my father drives my car on a regular basis. He also had my son that day. I don't think he had anything to do with it not starting. Also I know you can test everything an pin point the prob. But I can't get my car to start, there for how can I get to shop/auto store to get it tested??
The scanner is usually portable and fits into a carry case. Ask them, I'm sure they can sort out something for you. Regards John

this is caused by burnt starter solenoid contacts, U can either replace the starter solenoid contacts (about $15) or u can replace the entire starter.

Dare, Turn the key to the run position and shift the car to neutral. Turn the key to the start position and see if it will start.
There have been problems with the park/neutral switches that can cause this type of problem. If it still wont start, we will proceed to the next step.

Hey There,I would check the battery terminal connections real good.If they check out I have seen some inside fuse box issues where a terminal gets hot & burns at the front 68way connector. The wiring con be accessed by removing the left side console trim panel next to drivers right foot area. You can wiggle the wiring the next time it doesn't start & see if it takes off.If so you should back that connector out (7mm) screw in center & inspect male terminals with flashlight. If you see a terminal that looks like the plastice is malted around it you fould it.It will be in the first row.Used fuse box if so.Hope this helps

jlwhelen,
I will suggest that perhaps the blue smoke is not purely oil. It sounds like you may have an ignition problem where the engine has a hard time firing until warmed. The blue smoke may be, at least in part, unspent fuel. I realize that a warm engine that uses oil will smoke blue, but excessively rich conditions on startup can result in a similar effect. If the choke circuit is delivering a little extra fuel from a dirty injector, the problem may be worse when starting from cold.
To remedy this, I would suggest a simple replacement of plugs and wires, as well as a fuel injector cleaner through the tank. I would bet money that these simple maintenance points would solve your problem.
Good luck!

can you hear the starter cranking the engine over?
Yeah, u hear the starter, alternator, when starting.
We changed the spark plugs and we tried to spray starter fluid on the t.b and it still wont start! I was thinking it could be the ignition coil, but uncle that works at a shop said, you don't want to just start replacing thing bc you can spend 100's of dollar trying to fix the prob n it not even what the prob is!!
