I replaced the cap and rotor and ignition coil
SOURCE: I have a 1986 Nissan Pickup D21 that bogs down
your carberator is gummed up. Go to the auto parts store and get a can of seafoam fuel additive. Read the label so you get enough but as I recall you put in one ounce per gallon of gas. Run that through your pickup for a few miles and it will purr again.

the coil is inside the distributor under the cap.

check the fuseble link.
you can measure it, and make sure the contact are clean and secured.
the other thing is the check the ignition switch, make sure you have 12v going to the switch.
check thermo switch on top of the block.

You may have to check loose cables or wiring. Inspect the ignition coil, it should be in series with the distributor.
