Have you checked if any power goes from ignition switch to the coil?

your carberator is gummed up. Go to the auto parts store and get a can of seafoam fuel additive. Read the label so you get enough but as I recall you put in one ounce per gallon of gas. Run that through your pickup for a few miles and it will purr again.

SOURCE: Distributor wont spark

check the fuseble link.
you can measure it, and make sure the contact are clean and secured.
the other thing is the check the ignition switch, make sure you have 12v going to the switch.
check thermo switch on top of the block.

SOURCE: there is no spark. replaced distributor (coil) cap and rotor

You may have to check loose cables or wiring. Inspect the ignition coil, it should be in series with the distributor.

1986 NISSAN 300ZX FAILED EMISSIONS HIGH CO

I would replace CATalitic converter, this car is old, plus a tuneup is 100% necessary , spark plugs wires, ditributor cap & rotor, plus both the air & fuel filters need replaced. change oil & filter. then you will pass emissions test. and your car will run like its suppose too. if you don't do all this , then buy a new car !

1986 honda civic not getting spark

Ignition coil or Igniter (ignition module), likely one is failed. First check for battery voltage on the B+ primary wire on the coil. If voltage there, may be the coil (also check distrib. cap and rotor for wear or cracks). If no voltage to the coil, might be the igniter.

check for fuel compression, gas filter and try, a gas treatment, you buy it at auto zone the gas treatment is suppose to clean the jets . if you think is a valve issue then you should give it a compression test I would use the type gauge that screws to the piston hole and check each piston for compression.
good luck.

My 1986 toyota 2wd pick-up truck has no spark at the coil, the guys at auto - zone tested the coil for resistance and it check ok. the rotor turns when I crank the engine, what else should I check.-

Hello i can assist you. Hello your ignition module will cause a no spark you find your module under your distributor cap.You will see two wires go into your distributor shaft these will connect to your pick up distributor module. To remove and replace this part you will need to unscrew the distributor cap lift off and remove retaining screws on the module once you have removed this replace it with your new module reinstall your distributor cap and start.

1985 Nissan 300zx seems to be "missing".

suspect 1) bad spark plug(s) - change whole set if needed, (2) failing ignition coil (3) failing
distributor component(s), or (4) worn out distributor cap and/or rotor - if these need to be changed,
change both the cap and rotor as a set.
COST: if yo do any of these repairs yourself, your parts costs would be fairly low, but getting a garage
to rebuild your distributor could be costly

It sounds like the number 2 injector is hung open.

It will dump fuel and cause all sorts off issues with the ECU.

You should ohm that injector and compare it with the others to see if it is wildly different. If so, change it out and retest.
