2000 plymouth voyager transmission valve body removal

I'm following the repair manual to the letter and the valve body seems hung up on something. Removed the gov. tubes, the filter, undid the park switch, the cooling tube and the 7 bolts? It is kind of loose to wiggle a bit but thats it. Even the picture in the manual shows you just simply pull straight out after all is done above. I tried a light pry, but stopped because I fear I might cause damage. All I want to do is change the **** TCC Solenoid. It's the 4 cyl. 3-speed auto by the way. HELP...so frustrated.

Why wont my 97 plymouth grand voyager shift into fourth gear at 40 mph?

Sticking valves. When is the last time you had the transmission serviced? Since it will shift when cold, I would suspect a valve body issue.

1996 Plymouth Voyager starts in 2nd gear and never shifts regardless of how much gas I give it. The RPMs race up, but it never shifts. It is an automatic transmission with a 3.3L engine. Mechanic told me...

The valve body is a part roughly the size of a 8 X 11 piece of paper, only about 4 inches thick.
It is made of aluminum, and is really filled with lots of holes and passageways.
It is up inside your transmission oil pan.
As you drive, transmission oil is supposed to circulate inside this, and change your gears as you drive down the road.
These do fail occasionally, and are expensive to replace, often costing 1,000 to 3,000 to change, as most shops will overhaul your whole transmission in the process.
If you will type in " Ebay motors", and then type in "Plymouth valve body", you can see a picture of one.
Be blessed.
