There is probably a problem with you anti lock brake system. Have it checked at your local dealership. Brakes are a problem that should never be let go.

SOURCE: brake lights staying on
There is a shift interlock mechanism that operates off your brake pedal. It sends a signal for your brake lights and shift interlock solenoid when you put your brake on. Since you are having problems with both the brake lights and the shifting out of park I would go there first. It is easy to find, Follow your brake peddle up to its pivot point. Just below the pivot point you will see a landing and there will be one or two switches. A new switch is set out to make the adjustment when you install automatically. If you are handy, you can remove your old one, pull it out to max position and reinstall it. Let it self adjust. If it just got out of adjustment this will usually take care of the problem. You cold also have a weak solenoid in you shift interlock system. But that would not cause the brake light problem. Hope this helps.
