Are you sure the head light switch is not the problem?

You can buy adaptor plugs that allow a simple hook up at most car stereo places. However, when you increase the power going to the speakers you also have to replace the speakers to handle the higher power or you'll toast them.

Did you try adjusting the dimmer for your dash lights? Did it feel different - like the knob was no longer connected?? If so, try pressing the knob to re-align it up to the threading to properly seat it. Then try turning it all the way to the right, to the brightest setting. Or try turning the other way if there is still no illumination. Make sure you have the key in the ignition and turned on to the same location where your radio, wipers, and all other accessories work (test to make sure they are working before trying the dash lights). And of course, you need to be out of bright sunlight and in an area where you can clearly see when the dash lights come on, even in the event that they come on very, very dim.
So if this all failed, I hate to say it but it means you gotta take apart your dash which usually means numerous other parts that may overlap. Find a good diagram or step-by-step instructions for your particular model. Then it will be a matter of checking the bulb(s) and making sure any of the wires did not become disconnected or damaged...
Good luck. Taking apart your dash to get behind it cant be any more difficult with your Dodge than it was when I had to do it to a Toyota a couple months ago... I had to remove the console between the front seats to remove the auto shifter assembly that overlapped with the bottom section of the dash...
alot of time and effort all for one little bulb replacement.

If it's a chrysler engine the thermostat is located just below radiator cap. If mitsubishi diamond star engine it's located on the cylinder head , beside the air cleaner housing
