2006 Grand Vitara 6-Changer CD Player will not eject cds. 'Push Eject' error comes on.

Was playing cd #2. Pushed eject button. Didn't eject. 'Push Eject' comes on. Pushed eject. Then, 'All CD Eject' came on. No cd ejected.

I just went through this with a 2008 Grand Vitara, Clarion radio/6 disc player.

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

Two silver slats run down the center console on the side of the radio/heat controls. They pop off if you start at the bottom, stick a knife/screw driver on the bottom edge.

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

Remove the screws * 3/side that hold the radio and heat control units to the dash. Unplug the radio antena and the radio harness (press down on the clip on the top to release). The heat control has four clip in controls that also pop out. Two screws hold the heat control / radio together, remove those

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

Now you have the radio unit and it's metal harness. There are six screws to remove to take the radio out of the harness

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

Now you have the CD player/Radio (they call it a double din unit, there are two copmonents. You willl have to remove about a dozen small screws to take off the back top of the CD unit.

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

Once the back comes off, the top comes off. Just be careful to remember where all the screws came from (write it down).

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

When the top is removed, you will see the CD\'s. They are in a carousel that is super thin aluminum. (Seeing it you will get why the piece of garbage jams up). The CD slot is at the top of the unit, so on the inside there is a mechanicsm that slides forward, this allows the carousel to push a CD up, then the mechanism moves back over the CD so it can eject. In my case, that mechanism appeared to not release towards the CD slot enough to allow the CD to rise to the height it needed to eject. I was able to move the mechanism with one hand, then reach down and bend a cd up enough that I could remove it from the top of the unit. I repeated this and removed all the CDs this way

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

You then have to put back all the screws to hold the Din unit together, then reattach the unit to the it's harness (six screws), then reattach the unit to the heat control, then put it back in place on the dash and reconnect all the connections, screw everything back to the dash and pop the slats back on. -- It took one hour to remove, 30 minutes to get the CD's out, and 40 minutes to put back together. You will save 300 bucks if you do it yourself.

  • jdowney Sep 16, 2013

I"ve been told that CD\'s you make yourself tend to be thinner than Audio CD\'s you buy in the music shop. The thinner CD\'s tend to cause jams. From now on, I stay with one CD at a time. This is a pain.

This is a longshot, try unplugging it, wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in.

SOURCE: radio/cd player will not come on, nor clock above

might have some wires mixed up or shorting out somewhere to the body of frame of car ground so you can use a multimeter to test out where the short is at. First check out the radio to see when you have the car on and have the wires hooked up to it with the multimeter and check to see if there is any current going to it.

SOURCE: 2003 suxuki aerio sx CD player

The clarion 6 disk changers Suzuki used to use are notorious for doing that, mines starting to get flakey also. The others people are right there is nothing you can do to fix it. In fact I’ve heard horror stories about the dealers destroying customers CD’s trying to get them out. That’s probably why Suzuki got away from using clarion changers. If you don’t care about the CD’s that are stuck in the unit then pitch it in the trash and buy one of the Suzuki single disk mp3 players off eBay. Otherwise find a good electronics repair place and cross your fingers!

SOURCE: cd wont eject eject button

If the CD has sat inside for long or is a burned CD it may have warped from heat and is now jambed in there. I have had trouble with burned CD's that way before. They are more flimsy than regualr CD's.

Cd player doesn't play or ejects cds.it shows like there's cds inside but nothing comes out when the eject button is pushed.it displays"player error".what could be the problem?

The CD is probably not in the carousel the way it should be and cannot play and also has the door jammed so it can't eject. Sometimes this can be fixed by taking a thin object like a credit card and sliding in between the top of the door and the case. If you can move the CD just a little, you may be able to get it to eject.

My cds won't play and they will not eject. I have an in-trunk cd changer.

If your radio works and you press mode .Does head unit recognize cd,s
It should display no cd,s cd error etc
The reason i ask this is to confirm that connection is ok to stacker
To eject PRESS AND HOLD eject button, insert credit card under cartridge, push fully in and move left/right untill eject
This will locate micro switch,so you can check discs

I had this say problem with my 2000 solara. Here is the fix, remove one of the car battery terminals for a couple of mins (3-4mins). The reattach the battery terminal back. This would make your cd player and car clock reset. once you start your car you should be able to eject the cds. You'll just need to reprogram all your preset radio station. Hope it helps
