Your radio is now in "off" mode. To get it back to "code" mode you need to have power to the radio for 2 hours. This can be accomplished by either driving the car for 2 hours, or putting the key into position 1 on the ignition, but make sure to turn off the fan as it will drain the battery in 2 hours. Once you have "code" back you can enter the 4 digit radio code. Caution, many of these radios have been replaced so the code that the dealer gives you may be wrong. If entered and it comes back "EEEEEE" that means it is the wrong code. The radio must be pulled and get the factory serial number from the top of the unit.

Hope this helps!

Volvo 850 radio unlock code

We just unlocked a 98 Volvo S-70 radio,on the front, you have 2 slots across from each other, use you finger nails or a dime to get it to come out, then you can pull it out, then get the serial number and write it down, then put stereo back in,then get your vin number,it's on your insurance card, then call dealer and ask for your radio code, they will ask for vin number and radio serial code,if your radio says code, then you can enter it,ifit says off, then it's locked, you have 3 tries till it locks and it says off,if it says off, then you turn key to number 1,turn radio on,wait 2 hours, then it will say code, then enter code and radio will unlock, our code is 5513 if you want to see if it will work for you. Here's a link to you owners manual, read about the radio code, same as our's,but the dealer will give it to you free. 1994 Volvo 850 Watch this video. I have a 1994 volvo 850 GLT. Radio reset code

You will need to turn the ignition to the number 1 position and turn the radio on. It can take several hours, but the word code should come back on. When that happens, you will need to put the correct code in. If you don't have it, a Volvo dealer can give you the correct code from your VIN.

How do you reset the check engine light on a volvo S40? I did my own oil change and it pops up every time I start my car.

The Check Engine light has nothing to do with changing the oil. The light is on because there is a problem with the emissions system. Even if you reset the light it will just come back on unless the problem causing it to come on is repaired. You will need to have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. That tool will retrieve the code that has been set by the ECU. The code will tell you what part is being effected, but not necessarily what part or parts are defective. To determine that takes training, experience, and diagnostic skills. I suggest you seek professional help. If the engine is running fine there is no hurry but if it is not running as it should, then do not put this off.

Radio code for volvo s40

If the display says "Off" the radio is locked from incorrect code input.

You need to leave the key in the accessory position with the radio on (display reads 'Off') for about two hours.
After that it should ask for he code again. You have three tries before it locks again.
Some radios are different, but typically you use the knob to adjust the numbers, push the knob in to move to the next number

My radio display 0ff

You have to put the key in position 1 where the radio is on, but not your instrument panel. leave in this position for 2 hrs. yes, 2hrs! the radio then will come back to saying "code" once it does, call a volvo dealer, they can run your vin # and get your code. they may ask for proof of ownership. then push in your 4 digit code. this will work as long as the radio hasnt been changed out. if it has, they have to pull the serial number off the radio itself (it slides right out)and get the code for that radio.

Car radio problem

I would try removing either the two fuses for the radio or disconnecting the ground on the battery for a while. When you start the car it should rest from "OFF" to "CDE" and you will be able to enter code again

S40 volvo 2001 radio problem

Same problem with mine, same model etc. If you input code incorrectly 3 times the word 'OFF' appears. Then you need to leave the ignition in the first position with the radio on with the word off appearing for 2 hours. It then asks you for the code again. Ring your volvo dealer and give them your registration plate number. They should have the code on file. They should not charge for this. My problem is that volvo's code that they have stored does not work so i'm waiting for a repair guy to ring me back. Suspect my stereo was 'swapped out' during a service call. Might explain the cd skipping.
Cheers.
