Slowly all the rear lights on my car stopped working. Initially it started with the rear third brake light, then the brake lights, finally my hazard lights. At this point the only lights that work on the rear of the car are the driving lights and the backing up lights.
Does anyone know if this is a common problem for 06 Ford Five Hundreds?

My 05 has 3 nuts that hold the taillight assembly onto the car. in the trunk, pull the matting back, my be some snaps holding or cargo hooks. unscrew or pull, then take the 3 nuts off and entire tail light assembly should come off. Then twist out the correct but connector.

If you don't have a meter, it may help considerably with troubleshooting your problem; the ycost < $20 US and are handy around the home too.
As the thread above pointed out, checking a battery with no load on it is pretty useless unless it measures dead- that is probably correct but always stress the battery somewhat with headlights or starter to see if it can still do what you need.
It is typical with a headlight load and engine off for the battery to drop some from its nominal 12.6 V but not more than a 1/2 - 3/4 volt.
The starter will drag a healthy battery down to ~ 11 volts and this is normal.
Below 10, the starter may not turn fast enough to start the engine.
I suspect that you have electrical connector problems and may have to spend some time ferreting them out.
Not uncommon; the tinned brass of most sockets and plugs don't hold up to corrosion well and often grow tiny bumps that make it tough to pull plugs..
Two possibilites; 'contact cleaner' from an electronic supply or the ever-popular WD-40 and a little time for either to work.
I have for years when replacing any lamp, sprayed them with a lubricant (not WD-40, it evaporates) or used petroleum jelly smeared into the female part to help prevent corrosion from recurring.
I use the latter liberally on battery clamps too; it isn't permanent but does delay problems well.

I guess I did not know how to use this site, sorry. However, I am trying to replace the rear brake lamp on the passenger side. It seems the plug that holds the lamp in place will not come out. I have done everything to try and pull the plug with no success. Any ideas on how to get this out so I can replace the lamp?
