SOURCE: 98 jeep tj, dash light/taillights/licence plate light don't work

disconnect head lights, and replace fuse. Then turn the light back on to see if it blow a fuse again. if not, plug on light in at a time. You might have a bad headlight???? then unplug that one if nothing happens. Then plug the other one in. It could also be a bad taillight bulb. I have had bad tail light bulbs. Do all of them, one at a time.

SOURCE: cigarette lighter doesn't work

before u pull panel, check for 12vdc with voltmeter inside lighter socket. If u have it, then clean contacts and/or replace lighter(not socket, wiring is fine) May save a lot of work. If you don't have voltage are you 100% sure you have right fuse and not the one below, above, or next to it? I still make mistakes with numbered fuses, which number is for which fuse. To make sure I start counting at 1.

SOURCE: 2006 jeep liberty cigarette lighter problem

its probably not the lighter itself, it's probably lost power. check the fuse for the cig lighter and see if blown. if it is, replace. if it blows immediately you have a dead short. if not, pay attention to when it stops working. could be a problem with whatever you are plugging in, or something else on the circuit

SOURCE: jeep keeps blowing auto shutdown fuse

Yes I had the same problem. The wires that plug into the sensor at the catatytic converter were rubbing against the drive shaft untill they finally wore through causing the short against drive shaft. repaired wires and it fixed everything

40 Amp fuse keeps blowing immediately after I put it in and turn the key.

Possibly but more likely you've disturbed the wiring and it is now causing a short circuit

My cigarette lighter fuse blow out

If you replace the fuse again and it blows then you have a short somewhere, usually in an accessory you're plugging into it, or in the actual lighter. If it just blew randomly and replacing the fuse fixes the problem then I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes they blow prematurely.

Hi I have a 2006 envoy and have a short in the wiring went to plug in my obd reader and there is no juice found a blown fuse replaced it blew right away fuse is { 2 amp ltr } can you please tell...

I think only the lighter and obd are on that circuit. But, the 2 amp fuse is much, much too small for the lighter, or anything else for that matter. Replace the fuse with a 30 amp fuse, and try the code reader again. If the fuse continues to blow, replace the cigarette lighter assembly.

My child pushed in the cigarette lighter until

you could be lucky and the fuse blew, and it could be a burned wire, check the fuse panel and replace the fuse if blown, if it blows again you have to fix the wires, and possible the cigarette lighter if it got damaged

Cigarette lighter and radio not working on 2002 Honda coupe

They probably share the same fuse. Sounds like cig lighter coil is shorted and "fiddling around" blew the fuse. Replace the fuse and try a different lighter coil.
