Before someone say apply brakes, I have already done that. I push the brake all the way in and the car will not go in gear. The button on the gear shifter will not push in. However, when the car warms up it works fine! I don't understand this, can someone please help me solve this problem!!?
SOURCE: Aurora rear brakes
on rear disc brakes the cylinder actually has to turn back in. careful not to damage cylinder use large pliers to turn it to the left (facing it) until it is far enough to replace the pads.

I had this problem and dealer said I needed a new tranny. Took it for second opinion at local trans shop and they replaced the shift switch in the tranny for $250.
SOURCE: Automatic Transmission Gear shifter stuck in park
The Cable from the Brake peddle is Stuck/Broken..
Replace or Look under the Dash Above the Pedal for a Cable heading towards the Shifter.
Might be lose or Fell out of "Slot" the holds it with the Clip.
SOURCE: wont shift from park
Check and or replace the switch on the brake pedal, or check the lock out mechanism in the shifter.
