2000 prelude check engine light

Have the code checked. When the check engine light is on you car is warning you of a problem.

in the USA, our cars are OBD2 , (you there?)
and all scan tools can scan this car. an $9 tool (fleabay)
scan it .
or get it scanned, then post the DTC codes. all of them.
if its EVAP , code, tighten the gas cap, reset the PCM (same tool)
and that is not corrected.
you can get the zone to scan it but they 1/2 the time miss them all
and miss factory codes.
buy the tool, or go to any USA ASE certified, shop. and its bees-knees.

change the battery cables terminals you can get them at walmart for under 5 bucks last time I checked

some check engine lights have to be cleared with a scanner or code reader

YOU CAN DISCONNECT NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE FOR 10 SECONDS TO RESET ECM.BUT IF YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEP COMING ON.HAVE VECHICLE SCANNED TO SEE WHAT TROUBLE CODE YOU ARE GETTING.

good day.. well thats the problem on vehicles that runs on too much sensor, just a little trip it wont let you go but after you force it, it will be just fine. its just a warning light and it shuts off after means you are still doin good but if it wont shut then there really might a bigger problem. hope this helps, have a nice day

is everything stock? and you have catalitic converter in place?

Stop by Schucks auto supply and have them run the codes. i'm sure there is a code if you cant pass emissions. your check engine light bulb is probably out.

and usually the first cause is the first o2 sensor.

your o2 sensor is not reading right change it out and it will be fine
