How do I replace the fule pump on my 1996 suburu legacy outback?

  • Anonymous Sep 19, 2012

The fuel pump Is located in the gas tank. There is an axcess port right behind the back seats unscrew the plate then disconecr the hoses and then take off the dozen or so bolts and the fuel pump should come right out.

SOURCE: 1997 legacy outback 2.5 will turn over but will

****,squeeze, bang, Blow. That is what is required for a motor to operate. If you are getting fuel and current for the bang then the only thing left is the squeeze and blow which would be your compression. Have to make sure that the timing belt was timed properly to operate the valves to allow for compression. Hope this helps and have a good day.

you need a haynes manual to show you how to remove dash to replace bulbs.

SOURCE: were is the starter located in a subaru legacy

On the drivers side where the motor and transmission join on the top, you should see the starter. Your main hot or red battery cable should lead right to it. It has 2 bolts holding it. 1 is the bolt to hold starter and trans together, the other just holds the starter. Hope this helps and have a great day.

This is the 1/2 shaft spline. Also called a CV joint.
it is recommended to change both front shafts at the same time.

My `1997 Subaru legacy outback wagon ,my gas mileage went from 21 MPH to 15 MPH. What do you think is wrong.

if there are no major problems present all it needs is a tune up(spark plugs, fule filter, oil change, air filter, fule injector cleaner). for a upgrade in fuel economy add a short ram intake, parts are fairly easy to install.
