Question about 2001 Kia Sportage
Was only sputtering when trying to get over 25, now really cant idle, its rough, trys to quit, cant barely get it to take off, what can it be?
Fuel filter may be on backwards, restricting fuel flow, if not that check that the spark plug wires are on in correct firing order, as well as the spark plug gap. (spark plugs are not always gapped for the particular application from the factory due to the multiple array of applications a particular plug can be used for)

The hold light is on because the button on the left side of the gear selector is depressed. this causes the car to start off in second and doesnt go past third. This information is in your owners maual.

You can take it to advance auto parts or autozone for a free code reading.
But to reset it you just diconnect the battery for about 3 minutes and then hook it back up.
Please rate this a fixya

If you took the M.A.S. (Mass Airflow Senor) off check to see if you put it backwards. Its has a arrow and shows you which way it goes. Hope this helps.......
