You will need "VAG diagnostic software" - (google it) on a laptop and a £15 VAGCOM interface cable if you want to do it yourself.

Maybe, but the same fuse is used by other systems, and I would suspect other issues to arise, but check it out, I am wrong sometimes, hehe.
The sensor is on the bottom of the over flow. It seals in the coolant with a rubber o-ring. If this goes bad, it will leak coolant out the bottom and ruin the sensor.
The sensor pulls off with a sqeeze. Clean it with a can of electrical cleaner, and inspect for corrossion.
If either doesn't fix it, look for gremlins.
