I have a pontiac sunfire 2000, its pretty much just locking and unlocking cart...kill switch not workin wen alrm should be on i cant set it off by slamming door. then everything in my dash stopped working gas, rpm, speedometer,temp. and when car is turned on only two things that pop up is engine and theft system lights
The problem is in the ignition cylinder lock.
The body control module (BCM) is what controls the theft deterrent system on the 2000 Pontiac Sunfire.
It can be reprogrammed, but is complex to do.

turning left and stalling sounds like your power steering pressure switch is bad.as for other problem try unlocking drivers door using the key this should reset the factory alarm. also make sure you didn't miss a wire when reconnecting bat. look for 12gauge red wire near bat. this goes to computer if not connected car will crank but not start.

If you use the drivers outside door lock to unlock the vehicle it should disarm the vehicle. emmissionwiz is correct, you can't simply shut the factory alarm off.

The Alarm on my Mercedes ML320 sounded every night, then it started doing it more often, Showed it to the dealer he says it's the 'Tow Sensor', that needs to be repaced. $700, down the drain. I have already started hating this car, it eats $500-600, every 6 months...

Try re-setting the computer...Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and leave off for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the computer to reset. The charger may have interupted the signal or something.
