Hard shifting i have a 1991 gmc sierra single cab, it shifts hard on 2nd gear only. It seems like it just takes long to go into gear!

A flutter tone from the engine compartment. Noticeable from in the cab, but seems to go away when truck shifts to 2nd gear.

U may have a dirty valve body passage, have u changed the trans fluid and filter in the last 60,000 miles,. if no do and use the new GM Dexron VI trans fluid, it has greatly improved shift characteristic's and has the best detergent property out there to keep the trans clean. I have personnel experience with this fluid in my 96, I was amazed.

93 gmc sierra 1500 4x4 extended cab , shifts hard into drive and when shifting from 1st to 2nd. just put in a new 4L60E transmission.

You have the electronic version of the 4L60, so if it was doing it before with your old tranny. I'm going to point the finger at the computer. Probably nothing wrong with your old unit.
If you didn't replace this, then maybe you should.

I have a 1992 GMC Sierra 4wd single cab, is there a wire that needs to be plugged into intake in order for vehicle to shift into 2nd and 3rd gear?

Not a wire. Your transmission shift cable may be disconnected from the throttle. Or if you have a vacuum modulator the vacuum tube may be disconnected. Check your fluid level.

In my 95 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 just had the transmission rebuilt 3 weeks ago I was driving down the road and it shifted 1st to 2nd fine but from 2nd to 3rd it reved up all the way to 4500 rpms before...

That could be a perfect reason to take it back to the shop where it was just repaired for repeat service. Either that or you spun out in the mud.

I have a 94 gmc sierra with 350 that has problem shifting to 2nd

Your problem likely resides with the hydraulic valve that operates the band for second gear, or lack of hydraulic pressure in the transmission. If the actuator in the transmission that operates second gear is getting sticky, then it will cause this. A filter change and flush may help, but it's likely time to start looking for someone to tear down your transmission, or replace it.

Trans is in safe mode, you will have to get scanned to see codes.
