I would check for voltage at the starter from the battery and from the key switch via the neutral safety switch.
If there is no voltage at the starter from the battery check the fuseable link wires and the ground connections.

there will be some fusable links at the + of the battery they look like plane wire but have very soft insulation you will need a tester light or multimeter to chec if the power is going through them and have a look at the inside of the battery terms for yukky corosion one more thing check the cable giong to the body from the - term that it is connecting properly tp the body surface

I would try to replace your spark plugs, and spark plug wires, My 88 Vic did the same thing...now it runs like a champ....you could also try fuel injector cleaner.

Crown vic 2000 wont crank ? battery, alternator, starter, starter relay all good ?

The problem is in the wiring harness, yes the battery and starter is good, the harness you repaired is the PRNDL. for the starter to start it need a path when the vehicle is Park or Nuetral, there the path is closed some how by Park and Nuetral the path is open.Thats why there is a no start.when in park or nuetral the path is closed.

My 98 crown vic wont start, we had the starter tested and was told its good, when i turn the key all u can hear is the relay click(the relay up by the battery), the starter doesn't make any noise, any...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the sight. Did you check your starter solenoid? It may be that. You need to check your ignition fuse as well. Make sure the battery has a full charge and is holding a proper charge. If the starter isn't getting the full current, it may not work right. You need to make sure that you clean your terminals and post with a wire brush. Inspect all you wires from the battery to the starter. If you have to, test the wires for current with a voltage meter.

Car won't start

buy a cheap volt meter check voltage on both sides of the starter seleniod on the fenderwell if you have 12 volts on both sides while cranking test voltage at starter if you have 12 volts at starter with fully charged battery and it doesnt start you will need a starter it also sounds like you might need an alternator once you can get it started

The car wont turn over and i think the firing order is wrong were is the started located at

the easiest way to locate your starter is to start at the positive battery terminal.Follow that wire to the starter solenoid.on the solenoid there are two big wires one leads to the battery and one leads to the starter (make sure you have a fully charged battery
and if you touch a screw driver across the metal studs of these two terminals and the engine cranks the problem is probably with the solenoid) as for the firing order your best bet is to get a haynes manual for your make and model car and the full easy to follow procedure for determining the firing order will be there (try googling firing order for your car and you might find a procedure for free online)
hope this helps.........Good Luck!
