Thats fine. It only takes 4 psi of pressure to keep your engine oiled.

Why does the oil light come on while idling?

Low oil pressure or defective oil pressure switch/gauge. If vehicle has high mileage you my have an oil pump/main bearing issue causing low pressure. In some cases, using a heavier grade oil may help keep the light out

I have a 2004 buick lasabre and it has a low oil pressure reading.what should it read.it has 120.000 miles

I suggest that you replace the oil pressure sensor. Change oil 10w30 and use a delco pf 47 filter or wix. Never use a fram filter. Mine has 301,000 miles on it.

I just had my oil sender replaced because of a oil leak. My oil pressure gage shows 29 idling up to 65 while driving at 40 miles an hour. What is the oil pressure supposed to be in a 2000 Buick LaSabre?

30 is ideal for idling im my car at around 35mph its at 60psi just depends on how condition of the oil pump and rod/main bearing if there worn out u will have lower presser.

1995 buick lesabre limited, oil gauge issue

Could be two things, your oil pump pick tube is clog, oil pan would have to be drop to check, or your camshaft bearing worn causing low oil pressure,I would not say piston rod bearing or main bearing, cause there's no knock noise. You will have better oil pressure when cold due to oil much thicker. so I would forget about a bad oil pump.

Past weekend check engine light comes on, engine sounds and feels fine. However the oil pressure is running slightly slow

Check that the oil level is full.If the oil has been in service for more than 4,000 miles, change it. Replace the oil pressure sending unit. If nothing changes, put a mechanical gauge on the engine and read actual oil pressure. Though "acceptable" low pressure is only 5lbs, I would never accept that as safe. Minimum pressure should be at least 20-25psi and normal running pressure between 35 to 45psi.
How low is "slightly low"?

1999 firebird 3.8L low oil pressure at idle only when hot

your oil pump does that on purpose - more noticeable with a dented oilpan as pressure is slightly increased. nothing to do until it goes (if it goes) unless you want to throw parts at your car anyways.

Oil pressure guage drops after engine warms up

Is it possible that you are using a different brand or weight of oil? 10w30 instead of 10w40 could potentially cause this.

Can also be caused by engine running warmer for some reason.

3 psi shouldn't be much of a concern.

You can try a heavier weight oil if you want it to be a little higher.

OIL PRESSURE SEEMS TO BE GETTING ALITTLE WORSE IN BETWEEN OIL CHA

this all sounds normal the reason your pressure drops is because the oil breaks down between oil changes with that kind of mileage all is good
