SOURCE: knocking noise

The CV joints may have gone bad and needs to be replaced, the other thing that would cause a knocking noise is a worn out shock bushing as the wheel goes up and down there is play on the shock to the shock towers from worn out bushings. Recap, check the CV Joints for excessive play and the front shocks. You can buy shock bushings but most likely your going to need to replace the shocks if they have been in that long that the bushings are worn. Good luck and hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2001 jimmy makes a knocking noise when cold. as it

Most likely it is the rockers tapping the lifters. the crankcase has only leftover oil in it at the start, and has to wait for the oil pump to get it there.
I would add a stablizer to your oil...like LUCAS. It may help a bit with a cold engine.
If the knocking is in the piston, then you should see some indication on the spark plugs...like oil or blow-by build up.

SOURCE: air blower

Wires to blower may be crossed or blower resister is bad.

My 2005 ford freestyle the heheater or ac runs ; it makes this sound clap clap clap then stops

do you still hear the fan motor whining as if it was still turning or is it totally silent? you should run a jumper wire to the positive on the fan motor and see if it cycles and the noise is present if it runs steady but the noise is still there something is hitting the blower wheel or the bearing in the fan motor went and the blower motor must be replaced it could be that the clip that holds the wheel on the motor shaft broke and now the wheel is hitting the inside of the heater case good luck Stephen

I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado and every time I turn on the ignition, the knocking noise begins from under the dash somewhere. If I remove the fuse to the a/c/heater it doesn't make a sound when I

Try starting the truck so it makes the noise.
Then switch the air control to "fresh".
If noise stops, it is probably the motor that closes flap to recycle the cab air.
It would be found under the dash, under the glove box, & would need to be replaced.

This may be a defective blower motor shaft bearing , have a technician listen to it to confirm the problem is the bearing in the motor.

I hear a knocking noise when i turn on the heat or ac

It sounds like you have something in your blower motor/fan housing that's hitting the fan when it's running. Something may have fallen down the defrost vents on the dash. Or, a bad bearing in the blower motor. Either way, the blower motor would have to be removed. Sorry, but I'm not familiar enough with that model to tell you how to do it.

I have a 1994 honda accord lx..heater fan was makin funny noises for a while..then stopped working..started working and stopped again..Is it hard to replace..could it be a fuse..I;m a girl..could I do it...

The heater fan is on the right side floor board under the dash. It is a little tough to do but not extremely hard. If the blower was making noise, it could be something in the heater housing. If it is starting and stopping it is probably the blower motor. When replacing the blower motor you may have to remove the fan from the motor depending on where you buy a new one. The fans (usually made of plastic) break very easy. If you attempt this, be very careful in removing the fan.

Under the dash on the right side you will have to lay on the floor and look up. There may be a lower dash panel to remove. The motor is just below the glovebox. Removed the wire, remove the bolts/screws attaching the blower to the housing. Remove the blower.

I have a 1995 Acura Legend, air conditioner blower stopped workin

It means the blower fan is not running, look for wires that got knocked off, usually at the motor....

Good news is the AC sounds like it is working correctly, so this repair cost should be smaller. Apply external power to the fan terminal to see if it goes, if it does, problem is upstream, switch, resistors, etc.

But sounds like a fan. Test it. independently from the rest of the car
