check where your heater is as that is where the a/c expansion valve will be and if you don't pull a vacuum on the system you could have a frozen system with possible moist air in system

Air in the system. Was it vacumed down before it was charged?

Newer units don't use an expansion valve, but instead just an orifice tube, usually located in the junction of the high side hose to the evaporator under the hood.

there is no PCV valve. Its replaced by some sort of metering tubes.

thermal expansion valve (TXV). no orifice tube . look at fire wall where the a/c pipes go in look for this part .



The thermal expansion valve is located in the liquid line between the condenser and the evaporator. The thermal expansion valve is the dividing point for the high and the low pressure sides of the A/C system. As the refrigerant passes through the thermal expansion valve, the pressure of the refrigerant is lowered. Due to the pressure differential of the liquid refrigerant, the refrigerant will begin to vaporize at the thermal expansion valve. The thermal expansion valve also meters the amount of liquid refrigerant that can flow into the evaporator.

1.) Discharge air conditioning.
2.) Remove dashboard
3.) Replace expansion valve.

ive never seen an expansion valve in an rx8 go.....
usually its the climate control head. The blend knob stops working...

I believe it is located on the passenger side firewall.
