Usually this P0456 code is caused by an incorrect or faulty gas cap. Filling the fuel tank with the engine running could conceivable cause this code as well or if the cap wasn't properly tightened. Any of the following could also be the cause:
* A small leak in any of the EVAP hoses or fuel tank hoses * A small leak in the purge valve or vent valve * The EVAP Canister may be leaking
no, it's not the transmission. No monitors for that. It sounds like your check engine light. When your engine computer detects a problem with it's engine management controls, or when an emissions problem is detected, the computer will turn your check engine light and store a code or codes describing the problem. Autozone will scan your codes for free. Then you'll know if the light means a major problem (fix right away) or a minor problem that needs attention. When it's fixed, the light will stay off. You won't know what that light means until you get the codes read. Good luck.
This light is the check engine light, its a picture of an engine, this is to let you know that theres a problem with the performance of the engine, what happens is that the computer is always monitoring all sensors and components and when its sees something out of spec it turns on the eng light and stores a code. the code well tell what part of a system has failed, for example it may say po301 cyl # 1 misfire. this would mean that the computer has seen cylinder 1 misfring , then with some checking and testing the problem can be found why the cylinder was misfiring, the first step you would need to do is have the compuetr scanned to see what code or codes are stored. there are many autopart stores that will scan the computer for free and give you a print out, if you could get me the codes i would be able to help you further, good day.
There is a problem if you leave a check engine light on to long there is what techs call. Check light burn in the code get burn in to momery. first have a code check due fix the basic line problem if you have done that you will need a new computer ECM .
The first thing you need to do is have the codes read, the this works is the engine computer is always testing all sensors and checking operation when it sees something out of specs then it will turn on the check engine light to let you know something is wrong and then it stores a code in its memory to help you locate the problem, these codes can only be read with a scan tool, there are many auto part stores that will scan the codes and tell you the codes and some will give you a print out of the codes and if you give me the codes i can help you better. for example the code may be PO301 cylinder 1 misfire. this means that the computer sees cylinder 1 misfiring then with some testing you can see what the problem would be. hope this is helpful.
I'd go to an auto parts store that will check for any diagnostic codes free of charge (autozone and advance auto both do) and if you have any codes, list them here and I can tell you their definitions and the most common solutions to fix them in detail if needed
often , if the check engine light goes off, it is usually caused by an intermittent condition, such as a cylinder misfire, or similar. One thing to try is to get your car scanned to see what code is stored. Most auto parts stores will scan your car for free, and let you know what has happened. This way you can get some knowledge towards solving your problem.
take it to an autozone and they will test it for free..everything is integrated on the fuel injection. the codes may just have to be cleared. unhook the negative battery cable and pull the fuse called backup in the fuse panel (underhood I believe) for 30 seconds then rehook them.
CODE 89 IS FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR 1 PERFORMANCE.CODE 642 SENSOR REFERANCE VOLTAGE CIRCUIT "A" LOW.AND CODE 2004 IS ITAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL STUCK OPEN.CK FOR BAD OR MISSING VACUUM LINES.IS IT STILL UNDER WARRANTY
Check engine light is on also. Car is running fine, but don't want to do damage. Help?
